1 Scope
This Standard specifies the ordering content, dimension, shape, weight and tolerances,
technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking and quality
certification of hot-rolled spring steel wire rod for high-speed railway fastener,
This Standard applies to hot-rolled spring steel wire rod for high-speed railway fastener
with a nominal diameter of 12 mm ~ 20 mm (hereinafter referred to as steel wire rod).
This standard can be used as a reference for ordinary railways and heavy-load
railways.

3 Ordering content
Contracts or orders based on this Standard shall include the following content.
a) a reference to this Standard;
b) product name;
c) steel designation;
d) product specification and weight;
e) dimension, shape and accuracy grade;
f) other special requirements.
4 Dimension, shape, weight and tolerances
4.1 The dimension, shape and tolerances of steel wire rod shall meet accuracy grade
C of GB/T 14981-2009. Other dimensional accuracy can also be delivered as agreed
on by the purchaser and the supplier.
4.2 The coil weight of steel wire rod shall be as specified in GB/T 14981-2009.
5 Technical requirements
5.1 Smelting method
Steels for steel wire rod shall be smelted using an electric-arc furnace or a converter
plus external refining.
