It was revised for the second time in 2014;
- This is the third revision.
1 Scope
This document specifies the mechanical and physical properties of coarse and fine
thread bolts, screws and studs (hereinafter referred to as fasteners) made of corrosion-
resistant stainless steel, when tested at an ambient temperature of 10 °C ~ 35 °C. The
performance grades corresponding to the groups of austenitic, martensitic, ferritic,
duplex (austenitic-ferritic) stainless steel fasteners are specified.
2 Normative references
The contents of the following documents constitute the essential terms of this document
through normative references in the text. Among them, for dated references, only the
version corresponding to that date applies to this document; for undated references, the
latest version (including all amendments) applies to this document.
3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
Steel which has stainless steel and corrosion resistance as main characteristics, a
chromium (Cr) content of at least 10.5% (mass fraction) and carbon (C) content of
no more than 1.2% (mass fraction).
4 Symbols
The following symbols apply to this document.
5 Stainless steel group and performance grade marking system
The marking of performance grade (part 2) consists of 2 ~ 3 digits corresponding to
1/10 of the minimum tensile strength of the fastener specified in Table 2 or Table 3.
6 Materials
Unless otherwise specified, fasteners that meet this document shall be cleaned and
polished.
To prevent corrosion, bolts, screws and studs should be used with nuts and washers of
the same stainless steel group (e.g. A2 nuts and A2 bolts). Other combinations may be
used (e.g. A4 nuts and D4 bolts), provided that.
7 Mechanical and physical properties
Bolts, screws, studs of specified stainless steel groups and performance grades shall
comply with all applicable requirements specified in Tables 2 ~ 8, when tested in
accordance with the methods specified in Chapter 9, at ambient temperatures of 10 °C
~ 35 °C, either during the manufacturing process or at the time of final inspection of
the finished product.
8 Applicability of test methods and inspections
Standardized or non-standardized, full-load-bearing capacity stainless steel bolts,
screws or studs, when subjected to tension testing until fracture.
The buyer may control and/or test the delivered fasteners according to the test methods
specified in Chapter 9.
