Foreword
This Standard was drafted as per the rules specified in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This Standard replaced GB/T 3089-2008 Thinnest-Wall Seamless Tubes of Stainless
Steel. Compared with GB/T 3089-2008, this Standard made the major technical
changes as follows.

Seamless Ultra-Thin Wall Stainless Steel Tubes
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the ordering content, size, shape, weight, technical
requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking and quality
certificate of seamless ultra-thin wall stainless-steel tubes.
This Standard is applicable to spinning or cold-rolled (drawn) seamless ultra-thin wall
stainless-steel tubes (hereinafter referred to as steel tubes).
2 Normative References

3 Ordering Content
The contract and ordering list that order products according to this Standard shall
include the following contents.
4 Size, Shape, Weight and Allowable Deviation
4.1 Outer diameter and wall thickness
The nominal outer diameter (D) and nominal wall thickness (S) of the steel tube shall
meet the requirements of Table 1.According to the requirements of the purchaser, after
consultation between the supplier and the purchaser, steel tubes of other sizes than
those specified in Table 1 are available.
4.2 Allowable deviation of nominal outer diameter
The allowable deviation of the nominal outer diameter of the steel tube shall conform
to the provisions of Table 2.When the allowable deviation level of the size of steel tube
is not specified in the contract, the allowable deviation of the outer diameter of the steel
tube shall be delivered as an ordinary level.
4.4 Length
4.4.1 Normal length
The normal length of steel tube is 800mm~6000mm. Steel pipes of other lengths may
also be supplied upon negotiation between the supplier and the purchaser, and
indicated in the contract.
4.4.2 Specified length
The specified length of the steel tube shall be within the normal length range; and the
allowable deviation of its length is +10 0 mm.
4.5 Curvature
For steel tubes delivered in heat-treated state and with an outer diameter no greater
than 32.4mm, the curvature per meter shall be no greater than 5mm; the curvature of
the remaining steel tubes is not required.
4.6 Appearance
The steel tube shall not be twisted, and the tube end shall be vertical without burrs.
4.7 Weight
Steel tubes shall be delivered by actual weight.
5 Technical Requirements
5.1 Designation and chemical composition of steel
5.1.1 The designation and chemical composition of steel (melting analysis) shall
conform to the provisions of Table 4.According to the requirements of the purchaser,
after negotiation between the supplier and the purchaser, steel tubes of other
designations and chemical compositions than Table 4 may be supplied.
5.2.2 Manufacturing method of steel tubes
Steel tubes shall be manufactured by spinning or cold rolling (drawing).
5.3 Delivery state
Steel tubes are usually delivered in the state of solution heat treatment. If the purchaser
requires delivery in other states, it shall be indicated in the contract.
5.4 Mechanical properties
The mechanical properties of steel tubes delivered in heat-treated state shall comply
with the provisions of Table 5.
5.5 Non-metallic inclusions
5.7 Surface quality
5.7.1 There should be no cracks, folds, rolling-folds, delamination, scars, scaly thorns,
plaques, as well as scratches, pits and indentations with depth exceeding the lower
deviation of the wall thickness on the inner and outer surfaces of the steel tube. Slight
spiral corrugations, wire marks and non-damaging concave surfaces are allowed to
exist.
6 Test Methods
6.1 Sampling for the analysis of chemical composition of steel tube shall be conducted
according to rules of GB/T 20066.
6.2 The size and shape of the steel tube shall be measured one by one with a
measuring tool that meets the accuracy requirements.
6.4 The sampling methods and test methods of other inspection items of steel tubes
shall comply with the provisions in Table 8.
7 Inspection Rules
7.1 Inspection and acceptance
The inspection and acceptance of steel tubes shall be carried out by the quality and
technical supervision department of the supplier.
The sampling quantity for various inspections of steel tubes shall conform to the
provisions of Table 8.
7.4 Re-inspection and judgment rules
The re-inspection and judgment rules of steel tubes shall conform to the provisions of
GB/T 2102.
8 Packaging, Marking and Quality Certificate
8.1 Steel tubes shall be packed one by one or bundled into small bundles and put into
plastic bags before packing. The packaging box shall be lined with moisture-proof wax
paper and filled with foam or soft items.
