Copper and Copper Alloy Designation and Code System 1 Scope This Standard specifies the designation of grade and code for copper and copper alloy. This Standard is applicable to the processing, casting and recycling products of copper and copper alloy. 2 Normative References The following documents are essential to the application of this document. For the dated documents, only the versions with the dates indicated are applicable to this document; for the undated documents, only the latest version (including all the amendments) are applicable to this document. GB/T 11086 Copper and Copper Alloy – Terms and Definitions 3 Terms The following terms and definitions and those stipulated in GB/T 11086 are applicable to this document. 3.1 High copper alloys The processing of high copper alloys refers to using copper as the base metal, then add one or more microelements, so that obtain certain alloys with the expected properties. Generally, if the copper content is in the range of 96.0% ~< 99.3%. it shall be used for cold or hot rolling processing. The casting of high copper alloys refers to using copper as the base metal; generally, if the copper content is greater than 94%, it shall be used for casting processing. In order to obtain particular properties, such kind of alloys can be added silver. 3.2 Recycling copper and copper alloys The qualified copper and copper alloy products directly made of materials containing waste copper. 4.3 Naming method for the grades of recycling copper and copper alloy Based on the naming method for the grades of recycling copper and copper alloy, the most front end of the grade shall be crowned with the first capital letter of “recycling”, namely, the letter “R”. 5 Arrangement Principles of Codes The codes for copper and copper alloy consist of the first capital letter “T” in the Chinese Pinyin of “copper” or the first capital letter “C” in English word of “copper” and five Arabic numerals. The code number range for processing copper and copper alloy is “10000~79999”; while the code number range for casting copper and copper alloy is “80000~99999”. In the same category, it shall be sequenced as per the copper content from high to low; if the copper content is equal, it shall be sequenced as per the first main additive element content from high to low. 5.1 Arrangement methods for codes of processing copper and copper alloy The code arrangement for processing copper and copper alloy can refer to the provisions of Table 1. ......
