Foreword
This document was drafted in accordance with the rules provided in GB/T 1.1-2020 Directives
for Standardization - Part 1: Rules for the Structure and Drafting of Standardizing Documents.
This document is Part 3 of GB/T 24721 Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic Product for Highway.
GB/T 24721 has issued the following parts:

This document serves as a replacement of GB/T 24721.3-2009 Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic
Product for Highway - Part 3: Duct. In comparison with GB/T 24721.3-2009, apart from
structural adjustments and editorial modifications, the main technical changes are as follows:
a) The classification of glass fiber reinforced ducts is modified (see 4.1; 3.1 of Version
2009);
b) The technical requirements for flame-retardant properties are modified (see Table 2;
Table 2 of Version 2009);
c) Gasoline No., water temperature requirements for general tests and test temperature
requirements for chemical media resistance are modified (see 6.2, 6.9 and 6.10; 5.2,
5.5.4 and 5.5.5 of Version 2009);
d) The test methods for flame-retardant properties are added (see 6.8).

1 Scope
This document specifies the product classification, structures, dimensions and deviations,
model, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, as well as marking, packaging,
transportation and storage requirements for glass fiber reinforced plastic duct for highway.
This document is applicable to the production, inspection and usage of glass fiber reinforced
plastic duct for highway (hereinafter referred to as “glass fiber reinforced duct”).

3 Terms and Definitions

6.5.2 Wall thickness
Use a micrometer with a division value not greater than 0.01 mm to respectively measure-take
three measurement values at the socket end and the insertion end; take the arithmetic mean as
the measurement result.
6.5.3 Inner diameter of socket end
Use a caliper with a division value not greater than 0.02 mm to measure-take three values at an
interval of 120 on the section of the duct socket end; take the arithmetic mean as the
measurement result.
6.5.4 Length
Use a steel tape with a division value of 1 mm to respectively measure-take three values along
the axial direction of the duct; take the arithmetic mean as the measurement result.
6.5.5 Deflection
In accordance with the stipulations of QB/T 2803, conduct the test.
6.6 Appearance Quality
In accordance with the stipulations of 6.5 in GB/T 24721.1-2023, conduct the test.
6.7 General Physical and Mechanical Properties
6.7.1 Tensile strength
6.7.1.1 Rolled and pultruded glass fiber reinforced ducts shall be tested in accordance with the
stipulations of 6.6.1 in GB/T 24721.1-2023.
6.7.1.2 Winded glass fiber reinforced ducts shall be tested in accordance with the stipulations
of GB/T 1458.
6.7.2 Flexural strength
6.7.2.1 Rolled glass fiber reinforced ducts shall be tested in accordance with the stipulations of
6.6.3 in GB/T 24721.1-2023.
6.7.2.2 Winded glass fiber reinforced ducts shall be tested in accordance with the stipulations
of GB/T 5352; the circumferential flexural strength shall be calculated in accordance with
Formula (1):

D---the circumferential flexural strength, expressed in (MPa);
P---the maximum compressive load, expressed in (N);
D0---the outer diameter of the duct, expressed in (mm);
L---the length of the specimen, expressed in (mm);
D---the inner diameter of the duct, expressed in (mm).
6.7.3 Density
In accordance with the stipulations of 6.6.5 in GB/T 24721.1-2023, conduct the test.
6.7.4 Barcol hardness
In accordance with the stipulations of 6.6.6 in GB/T 24721.1-2023, conduct the test.
6.7.5 Load deformation temperature
In accordance with the stipulations of 6.6.7 in GB/T 24721.1-2023, conduct the test.
6.7.6 Static friction coefficient of inner wall of duct
In accordance with the stipulations of Appendix B in GB/T 24721.2-2023, conduct the test. The
length of the duct specimen is not less than 500 mm.
6.7.7 Duct rigidity
In accordance with the stipulations of GB/T 5352, conduct the test. The specimen length is 300
mm. When the radial change rate of the duct is 10% of the inner diameter, determine the duct
rigidity.
6.7.8 Resistance to drop hammer impact
In accordance with the stipulations of GB/T 14152, conduct the test. The specimen length is
200 mm, and the test temperature is (20 2) C. Select Type D90 hammer, the hammer weight
is 6.3 kg 32 g, and the drop height is 1 m 10 mm. For each specimen, impact once.
6.8 Flame-retardant Properties
In accordance with the stipulations of 6.7 in GB/T 24721.1-2023, conduct the test.
6.9 Water Resistance
In accordance with the stipulations of 6.10 in GB/T 24721.1-2023, conduct the test.

3 Product classification, structure, size and deviation
3.1 Classification
FRP pipe according to the molding process is divided into the following three kinds.
a) J --- rolled glass fiber reinforced plastic pipe;
b) C - winding glass fiber reinforced plastic pipe;
c) other molded fiberglass pipes.
3.2 structure, size and deviation
3.2.1 Structure and size
FRP pipe product structure shown in Figure 1, the structure size should be consistent with the provisions of Table 1.
3.2.2 deviation
Shall comply with the following provisions.
a) Diameter D allows a deviation of +0.75 mm.
--- wall thickness of 5mm, the allowable deviation of +0.5 0 mm;
--- wall thickness of 8mm, the allowable deviation of +0.80 mm.
