1 Scope
This Standard specifies the principle, apparatus, specimen, test procedures and result
calculation for the determination of bulk density of carbon materials.
This Standard is applicable to determination of bulk density of carbon materials at
room temperature.

3 Principle
The bulk density of carbon materials indicates the mass of unit volume including the
porosity.
4 Apparatus
4.1 Balance. weighing range (0 ~ 1000)g, sensibility 0.01g.
4.2 Blast drying oven. it is equipped with automatic temperature control device,
which can maintain the temperature at (105 ~ 110) °C.
4.3 Vernier caliper. measuring range (0~ 200)mm, accuracy 0.02mm.

1 Scope
This standard specifies the determination of bulk density carbon materials principles, instruments and equipment, samples, test procedures and results of calculations.
This standard applies to the determination of various carbon materials at room temperature bulk density.

Carbon material bulk density is mass per unit volume including pores, including.
4 instruments and equipment
4.1 Balance. Weighing range (0 ~ 1000) g, a sense of the amount of 0.01g.
4.2 Blast Oven. with automatic thermostat can be maintained at (105 ~ 110) ℃.
4.3 vernier caliper. Measuring range (0 ~ 200) mm, the accuracy of 0.02mm.
5 Sample
5.1 according to GB/T 1427 sampling method of carbon material sampling and processing. among them.
(1) Sample size diameter of 500mm or more electrodes. diameter 30mm ± 0.1mm, length 180mm ± 0.2mm;
(2) LW graphitization furnace (LWG) times to take three samples per furnace.
5.2 electrode type specimen only volumetric density of the sample can be processed into any size, but after processing the specimen diameter should be greater than the maximum test specimen
