1 Scope
This Standard specifies the general principles, technical requirements, inspection,
detection and test requirements, accompanying documents, signs, packaging,
transportation and storage of wonder wheel category of amusement rides.
This Standard is applicable to wonder wheel category of amusement rides.

3.4 Top Spin Type
Top spin type refers to the wonder wheel category of amusement rides, where the inner
side of the supporting frame in the vertical plane is equipped with supporting shafts
(half shafts or through shafts), and the supporting shafts are respectively equipped
with a rotary arm, and one end of the rotary arm is connected with the cockpit; the
cockpit can rotate in the forward and backward directions with the rotary arm, and
simultaneously, it can freely swing; when the rotary arm is equipped with a swing joint,
the two arms can asynchronously rotate, and the cockpit will move up and down along
with it.

3.5 Time and Space Shuttle Type
Time and space shuttle type refers to the wonder wheel category of amusement rides,
where the upper end of the vertical column is equipped with a supporting shaft, and
the supporting shaft is equipped with a rotary arm; one end of the rotary arm is
connected with the cockpit; the rotary arm can rotate forward and backward; the
cockpit is fixed with the rotary arm, or can swing left and right.

3.6 Flying Carpet Type
Flying carpet type refers to the wonder wheel category of amusement rides, where the
cockpit is connected with one end of the rotary arm, makes translational movement
around the supporting shaft with the rotary arm, and can rotate in the forward and
backward directions.
NOTE: the rotary arm is generally two-arm or four-arm, and the corresponding supporting
column is two-column or four-column (see Figure A.6).
3.7 Pendulum Loop Type
Pendulum loop type refers to the wonder wheel category of amusement rides, where
the upper end of the vertical column is equipped with a supporting shaft, and the two
ends of the supporting shaft stretch out and are respectively equipped with a rotary
arm; one end of the rotary arm is the cockpit; the cockpit drives the rotary arm to rotate
along a fixed ring-shaped inner slide, and can rotate in the forward and backward
directions; the cockpit is fixed with the rotary arm, or can rotate around it.

3.8 Other Type
Other type refers to the wonder wheel category of amusement rides, where the
passenger-taking part rotates or swings around the horizontal axis, and has a similar

5.2.5 When the height of Type-A and Type-B wonder wheel category is not less than
40 m, installation verification shall be carried out.
5.2.6 The parallel misalignment between the actual shaft axis of the main supporting
shaft and its theoretical shaft axis shall be not greater than 1/1,500 of the design value
of the distance between the two supporting centers.
5.2.7 When Type-A wonder wheel category is supported by a vertical column structure,
the deviation of perpendicularity between the center line of the vertical column and the
horizontal plane shall be not greater than 1/1,000 of the design value.
5.2.8 The deviation between the bearing of the wheel supporting shaft or the slewing
supporting center on the two vertical columns of Type-A wonder wheel category and
its design value shall be not greater than 1/1,000.
5.2.9 In terms of Type-A wonder wheel category, the deviation between the radial and
end run-out of the driving ring on the wheel shall be not greater than 1/1,500 of the
diameter of the driving ring.
5.2.10 When Type-A wonder wheel category adopts pin gear transmission, the
deviation of the radial and end run-out of the pin gear shall not be greater than 1/2,000
of the pitch circle diameter of the pin gear; the gear shall be equipped with an error
compensation device.
5.2.11 In terms of Type-C wonder wheel category, the horizontality of the center line of
the main shaft of and the perpendicularity between the main shaft and the swinging
arm shall be not greater than 1/1,000.
5.2.12 When the wheel spokes of Type-A wonder wheel category adopts part or all of
the cable structure, the cables shall be appropriately adjusted. There shall be no
obvious slacking phenomena, such as: bending and sagging, etc.; the cables shall not
touch each other. Under full load and 15 m/s wind load, cables in the upper semicircle
slewing flange and the ground shall be not greater than 1/1,000.
5.2.24 In terms of Type-E and Type-G wonder wheel category, the lateral movement
of the cockpit caused by the bearing clearance or the vacancy of the slewing bearing
shall be less than 1/1,000 of the slewing radius of the swinging arm.
5.2.25 In terms of Type-D wonder wheel category, the joint of the swinging arm and
the cockpit shall be equipped with a compensation function, so as to ensure free
movement of the two arms.
5.2.26 In terms of Type-D wonder wheel category, when the connection between the
rotary arm and the cockpit arm adopts a ten-byte structure, the integral forged structure
should be adopted.
5.2.27 When Type-C, Type-D and Type-E wonder wheel category stops operation or
loses power supply, there shall be measures to prevent excessive idle swings of the
cockpit; the idle swinging time shall not exceed 5 min.
5.2.28 In terms of Type-F wonder wheel category, the distance from the center line of
the upper and lower shaft holes of the swinging arm shall maintain consistent; the
linear dimensional deviation shall be not lower than Level-m (medium level) specified
in GB/T 1804-2000. The parallelism and perpendicularity of the center line of the upper
and lower shaft holes of the swinging arm shall be not lower than Grade-10 accuracy
requirements in GB/T 1184-1996.
5.2.29 In terms of Type-F wonder wheel category of amusement rides, the parallelism
between the manned platform and the center line of the connecting shaft of the
swinging arm shall be not lower than Grade-10 accuracy requirements in GB/T 1184-
1996. The distance between the center lines of the two shafts shall be consistent with
the distance between the center lines of the main shaft of corresponding vertical
columns. The linear dimensional deviation shall be not lower than Level-m (medium
level) specified in GB/T 1804-2000. When four connecting points are used, each pair
of connecting shafts at both ends of the platform shall be concentric.
5.2.30 In terms of Type-F wonder wheel category of amusement rides, the supporting
shafts (two shafts or four shafts) on the vertical columns shall be on the same
horizontal plane; the deviation shall be less than 1/1,000 of the measured value. The
parallelism and perpendicularity of the shaft axis of the supporting shaft shall be not
lower than Grade-11 accuracy requirements in GB/T 1184-1996. In case of four shafts,
the coaxiality of the two half shafts located on the same shaft axis shall be not lower
than Grade-10 accuracy requirements in GB/T 1184-1996.
5.2.31 In terms of Type-G wonder wheel category of amusement rides, the radial run-
out deviation of the inner ring raceway of the circular ring shall be not greater than
5/1,000 of the diameter of the inner circle; the raceway surface shall be flat, and without
obvious unevenness.

of not less than 500 mm shall be left.
5.3.8 In terms of Type-A and Type-B wonder wheel category, safety warning signs shall
be set up at prominent positions on the compartment, so as to clarify the rated number
of passengers and matters needing attention during riding.
5.3.9 In terms of Type-A and Type-B wonder wheel category, the height of the floor and
the blocks of non-enclosed compartments shall be not less than 1,200 mm. The
entrance and exit of the compartment shall not be 300 mm higher than the step.
5.3.10 In terms of Type-A and Type-B wonder wheel category, when the operating
height is not less than 40 m, the compartment shall be equipped with a system for the
communication between the compartment and the ground. Enclosed compartment
should be equipped with air-conditioning and ventilation holes.
5.3.11 In terms of Type-A and Type-B wonder wheel category, the inclined angle
between the bottom plate in suspension-type compartment and the horizontal plane
shall be not greater than 15°. In terms of Type-A and Type-B wonder wheel category,
the suspension-type compartments shall be equipped with a damping device to reduce
the compartments’ swinging frequency and the swinging angle. For compartments that
use a servo gear to maintain the inner bottom plate in a horizontal state, when the
servo gear fails, there shall be an automatic release device.
5.3.12 In terms of Type-A and Type-B wonder wheel category, the inclined angle
between the bottom plate in the surrounding-type compartment and the horizontal
plane shall be not greater than 2.5°; the mechanism that maintains the bottom plate in
the compartment in a horizontal state shall be reliable. For compartments that use a
servo gear to maintain the inner bottom plate in a horizontal state, when the servo gear
fails, there shall be an automatic release device.
5.3.13 In terms of Type-A and Type-B wonder wheel category, the compartment
suspension shaft bearings shall maintain good lubrication and flexible rotation.
5.3.14 In terms of Type-A and Type-B wonder wheel category, the compartment
bearing structure and the connecting bolts and welding seams shall be convenient for
inspection and maintenance.
5.3.15 In terms of Type-A and Type-B wonder wheel category, the doors and windows
shall have sufficient strength.
5.3.16 In terms of Type-A and Type-B wonder wheel category, when the cockpit doors
automatically close, there shall be an anti-pitch device. The clamping force shall be not
greater than 150 N; the anti-pinch device shall normally work.
5.3.17 In terms of Type-A and Type-B wonder wheel category, when the compartments
are equipped with electrical devices, the combustion performance level of the
and backward rotation or swing control. When automatic control or manual control is
adopted, each movement shall be separately controlled.
5.4.11 The sensor protection selected by the safety protection device shall comply with
the requirements of 4.4.5 in GB/T 28265-2012.

shall comply with the requirements of MH/T 6012-2015.
5.4.13 In terms of the wonder wheel category of amusement rides that adopts a lifting
platform or mobile platform, there shall be reliable measures to prevent platform
maloperation during equipment operation, and interlock control shall also be adopted.
5.4.14 In accordance with the requirements of GB 8408, the wonder wheel category of
amusement rides with acceleration in Zone 4 and Zone 5 shall be equipped with an
interlocking control function that can only be actuated after the safety pressure bar is
closed and locked. The maximum locking position of the closed safety pressure bar
shall be able to effectively lock the largest number of passengers allowed in the
passenger instructions.
5.4.15 The outdoor wonder wheel category of amusement rides with a height of more
than 15 m shall be equipped with a lightning protection device. When a lightning rod is
used, a down conductor shall be set at the pole tower; if the equipotential ground is
adopted, when the transition resistance of the flange is greater than 0.03 , a jumper
wire shall be set on the flange, and measures shall be taken to prevent lightning surge
intrusion. When the height exceeds 60 m, lightning protection devices against lateral
lightning strikes shall also be added. The lightning protection device shall comply with
the stipulations of GB 50057 and shall be qualified in the acceptance inspection by
relevant departments.
5.4.16 The wonder wheel category of amusement rides shall be equipped with a video
monitoring system, so as to ensure that the operation of the whole machine is in a
monitor state at any time during the operation of the equipment; the monitoring display
screen shall be clear and without interference.
5.4.17 When the control and communication of the wonder wheel category of
amusement rides adopts wired transmission system, communication lines with a
shielded layer shall be used.
5.4.18 The platform floor for passengers’ getting-on and getting-off and the
compartment floor shall be equipped with anti-skid measures. Type-A and Type-B
wonder wheel category shall have the function of preventing eccentric load stall.
5.4.19 Type-C wonder wheel category shall be equipped with two sets of independent

5.6 Surface Protection
5.6.1 The metal structure of the amusement rides shall take appropriate surface
protection measures, such as: anti-rust paint, hot (dip) galvanizing, or stainless steel
materials.
5.6.2 When anti-rust paint is used for the surface protection of the metal structure,
before painting, de-rusting treatment shall be conducted to reach Level-Sa2 in GB/T
8923; the components other than the main force-bearing components shall reach
Level-Sa2 or Level-St2 (manual rust removal). The paint surface shall be uniform,
delicate, bright, complete and consistent in color; there shall be no defects, such as:
roughness, missing paint, wrong paint, wrinkles, pinholes and severe sagging. It is
recommended that the total thickness of the paint film shall be not less than 80 μm.
The adhesive force of the paint film shall comply with Class-1 quality requirements in
GB/T 9286.
5.6.3 When hot (dip) galvanized coating is used for the surface protection of the metal
structure, the hot (dip) galvanized coating shall comply with the stipulations of GB/T
13912.
5.7 Whole Machine
5.7.1 The whole machine of the amusement rides shall have a good appearance state
and manifest no damages.
5.7.2 In the main technical parameters, the static parameters, such as: height, slewing
diameter, number of cockpits, number of passengers in a single cockpit, shall comply
with the design requirements; under allowable normal operating conditions, such as:
no-load, full-load and eccentric-load, the allowable deviation of the dynamic
parameters (rotating speed, one-sided swinging angle, motion amplitude and speed,
etc.) and the calculated value of design shall be between -10% ~ 5%.
5.7.3 For equipment with the design acceleration partition in Zone 3, Zone 4 and Zone
5, an acceleration test shall be conducted; the test value shall be not greater than 5%
of the design value (including impact coefficient).
5.7.4 The important force-bearing structure of the first newly designed product shall
receive a stress test. The main rotary arm of the newly installed Type-C, Type-D, Type-
E, Type-F and Type-G wonder wheel category shall receive a stress test. The stress
test results shall satisfy the design requirements.
5.7.5 The whole machine operation test shall include no-load, eccentric-load and full-
load test. During the operation test, there shall be no abnormal vibration, impact, heat,
noise or jamming. After the operation test, the mechanical and structural components
shall not have abnormal wear, deformation, shedding, permanent deformation or

6.2.10 In terms of Type-D top spin type, the installation surface of the left and right
vertical column slewing flanges shall ensure the coaxiality and perpendicularity, which
shall be measured with measuring instruments of coaxiality and perpendicularity. In
different directions, conduct the measurement at not less than 3 points; take the
maximum value.
6.2.11 In the test of driving wheel self-compensation compression device of Type-G
wonder wheel category, operate the equipment, the driving wheel shall be able to
compress the raceway at all times and maintain smooth operation.
6.2.12 In the cockpit lateral movement test of Type-E and Type-G wonder wheel
category, when the equipment is in the stationary state, apply a lateral force onto the
cockpit to measure the lateral movement of the cockpit.
6.3 Riding System
6.3.1 Before and after the test, the riding system shall be inspected. The content of the
inspection shall at least include: the steel structure connection of seats, the safety
pressure bar and its locking device, the safety belt and its fixed connection, etc.
6.3.2 In terms of the test of the safety pressure bar locking device, if there are two sets
of safety pressure bar locking devices, under the load allowed by the design, conduct
the test; each set of the locking devices shall be able to independently function. For
each set of locking devices, conduct the test for not less than 3 times.
6.3.3 In terms of the test of the safety pressure bar locking device, when the safety
pressure bar is closed and locked, apply a force of 500 N onto the passenger’s handrail
position; the direction of the force shall be perpendicular to the connecting line of the
pressure bar slewing arm; the pressure bar and its locking device shall be effective,
and there shall not be obvious deformation or damage. For each type of safety
pressure bar, test at least 3 pressure bars.
6.3.4 In terms of the test of operation safety envelope scope, for non-enclosed cockpits,
under static conditions, measure the safety distance or verify whether the isolation
measures are effective; conduct the test for not less than 3 times. If the safety distance
equipment simulation are not ready, the subsequent actions shall not be started. Test
the safety pressure bar closing, locking, the automatic door opening and closing, and
the movement of the moveable platform. Each item shall be tested for not less than 3
times.
6.4.4 In terms of overspeed prevention test, after the equipment reaches the maximum
operating speed under the operating conditions, the measured operating speed shall
not exceed the design value. Conduct the test for not less than 3 times.
6.4.5 In terms of the limiting device test, simulate the reaching of the limit position; the
limiting device, and the limit position detection and control device shall be effective.
Conduct the test for not less than 3 times.
6.4.6 In terms of the insulation resistance test, measure the resistance between the
live circuit of the equipment and the ground, the phase-to-phase of the motor, and
between the primary and secondary windings of the transformer; the resistance of each
test point shall comply with the requirements. For each test point, consecutively
measure for 3 times; take the minimum value as the measured value.
6.4.7 In terms of the grounding resistance test, measure the resistance between un
uncharged metal shell and the ground under normal conditions; the resistance of each
test point shall comply with the requirements. For each test point, consecutively
measure for 3 times; take the maximum value as the measured value.
6.4.8 In terms of the power failure simulation test, under the operating conditions
allowed by the design, simulate the sudden power failure or possible equipment failure;
the operation personnel and related staff shall be able to use emergency rescue
equipment and take safe and effective evacuation measures to guide passengers to a
safe area in time.

6.7.7 The eccentric-load test of cockpits or compartments shall be loaded in
