Foreword
This document was drafted in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020
"Directives for standardization - Part 1: Rules for the structure and drafting of
standardizing documents".
This document replaces GB/T 14463-2008 "Viscose staple fiber". Compared with GB/T
14463-2008, in addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main
technical changes are as follows:
- CHANGE the scope of application (see Chapter 1; Chapter 1 of the 2008 edition);
- CHANGE the normative references (see Chapter 2; Chapter 2 of the 2008 edition):
- CHANGE the terms and definitions (see Chapter 3; Chapter 3 of the 2008 edition):
- CHANGE the classification and identification (see Chapter 4; Chapter 4 of the
2008 edition):
- DELETE the substandard products in product classification (see 5.1 of the 2008
edition);
- ADD the performance items and indicators of fine denier viscose staple fibers (see
5.2.1);
- CHANGE the indicators of breaking strength, residual sulfur, defect items and the
central value of whiteness items (see 5.2.2, 5.2.3, 5.2.4; 5.2.1, 5.2.2, 5.2.3 of the
2008 edition).

Viscose staple fiber
1 Scope
This document specifies the classification and identification, technical requirements,
test methods, inspection rules and markings, packaging, transportation, storage of
viscose staple fibers.
This document is applicable to natural glossy viscose staple fibers with a linear density
of 0.66 dtex ~ 6.67 dtex, which is produced from cotton pulp and wood pulp. Viscose
staple fibers of other raw materials and specifications can make reference to this
standard.
2 Normative references
The contents of the following documents constitute the essential provisions of this
document through normative references in the text. Among them, for referenced
documents with dates, only the version corresponding to that date applies to this
document; for referenced documents without dates, the latest version (including all
amendments) applies to this document.

5.4 Moisture regain
The standard moisture regain is 13%; the moisture regain of the product shall be
controlled within 8% ~ 13%. The batch with an average value exceeding 14% or the
part with a single specimen exceeding 15% shall not be exit-factory. Products with a
moisture regain of less than 8% shall be exit-factory only after obtaining the user's
consent.
6 Test method
6.1 Coefficient of variation of breaking strength, breaking elongation, breaking
force
It is performed in accordance with GB/T 14337.
6.2 Linear density deviation rate
It is performed in accordance with GB/T 14335-2008. The mid-section weighing
method of bundle fiber shall be used for arbitration. For fine denier fibers, the number
of sampling pcs can be appropriately increased.
6.3 Length deviation rate, super long fiber rate, double length fiber content
It is performed in accordance with GB/T 14336.
6.4 Residual sulfur content
It is performed in accordance with FZ/T 50014.
6.5 Defect content
It is performed in accordance with GB/T 14339-2008; method B (hand picking method)
is used for arbitration.
6.6 Oily yellow fiber content
It is performed in accordance with GB/T 14339-2008.
6.7 Whiteness
It is performed in accordance with FZ/T 50013.
6.8 Number of curls
It is performed in accordance with GB/T 14338.
6.9 Oil content
It is performed in accordance with GB/T 6504.
6.10 Moisture regain
It is performed in accordance with GB/T 6503.
7 Inspection rules
7.1 Inspection types
Product inspection is divided into exit-factory inspection and acceptance inspection.
7.2 Exit-factory inspection
7.2.1 Inspection items
The exit-factory inspection items are 5.2, 5.3, 5.4, of which 5.3 and 5.4 are not used as
items for grade rating.
7.2.2 Batch grouping rules
Periodic sampling is used to form inspection batches within a certain range. A
production batch can be composed of one inspection batch or several inspection batches.
7.2.3 Sampling
The sampling of each performance item is carried out in accordance with the sampling
method for off-line products in GB/T 14334-2006.
7.2.4 Grade rating
The measured or calculated values of the performance items (see 5.2) are compared
with the limit values in Tables 2 ~ 5; the grade is determined item by item. The lowest
grade among the quality indicators is determined as the grade of the batch of products.
7.3 Acceptance inspection
7.3.1 General
The buyer shall promptly check whether the outer packaging, number of pieces, mass
of the batch product packaging are consistent with the bill of lading. Within one month
after a batch of products arrives at the buyer, if there is any objection to the product
quality, it can be submitted for re-inspection. The re-inspection can be carried out by
either party and agreed by both parties. If necessary, the arbitration inspection agency
can be required to take samples, inspect, and arbitrate according to the requirements of
this document.
