Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This standard replaces GB/T 11351-1989 "Mass tolerance of casting".
Compared with GB/T 11351-1989, the main technical contents of this standard
are as follows:
- MODIFY the terms and definitions;
- MODIFY the method of determining the nominal mass of castings;
- MODIFY the selection rules of mass tolerance of casting;
- MODIFY the value of mass tolerance of casting;
- ADD Appendix A and Appendix B.
This standard was proposed by and shall be under the jurisdiction of the
National Foundry Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC 54).

Mass tolerances of casting
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, basic principles, marking
methods, inspection methods of mass tolerances of castings (hereinafter
referred to as mass tolerances).
This standard applies to castings as produced by various casting methods.
2 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
2.1
Nominal mass of casting
The mass as calculated according to the casting chart or the mass of the
casting that is qualified by both the supplier and the buyer or the reference
mass of the casting to be determined according to a certain method,
including the amount of variation in the casting mass as caused by such
factors as casting’s machining allowance and other process allowances.
2.2
Mass tolerance of casting
The ratio of the difference between the actual mass of the casting and the
nominal mass to the nominal mass of the casting (expressed as a
percentage).
2.3
Mass tolerance grade
The level of mass tolerance of casting.
2.4
Actual mass
The measured mass of the casting being tested.

Casting weight tolerance
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, basic principles, marking methods and inspection methods of casting weight tolerances (hereinafter referred to as weight tolerances).
This standard applies to castings produced by various casting methods.
2 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
2.1
Casting nominal weight nominalmassofcasting
The weight calculated according to the casting drawing or the weight of the casting that is qualified by the supplier and the buyer or the base of the casting to be checked according to a certain method
Quasi-weight, including the amount of variation in casting weight caused by factors such as casting machining allowance and other process allowances.
2.2
Casting weight tolerance masstoleranceofcasting
The ratio of the difference between the actual weight of the casting and the nominal weight and the nominal weight of the casting (expressed as a percentage).
2.3
Mass tolerance grade
The level of casting weight tolerance.
2.4
Actual weight actualmass
The measured weight of the casting being inspected.
3 Basic principles
3.1 Grade and code of weight tolerance
The weight tolerance code is represented by the letters "MT" 1). The weight tolerance level is divided into 16 levels, MT1 to MT16.
In Table 1.
1) The letter "MT" is the abbreviation of English "Masstolerance" weight tolerance. The weight tolerance level corresponds to the dimensional tolerance level.
3.2 Determination of the nominal weight of the casting
3.2.1 During mass production, at least 10 castings are randomly selected from the first batch of qualified castings jointly identified by the supplier and the buyer, and the actual weight
The average value is used as the nominal weight.
3.2.2 In the production of small batches and single parts, the calculated weight or the actual weight of qualified castings jointly recognized by both the supply and demand parties shall be taken as the nominal weight.
3.2.3 The weight obtained by the standard sample or calculation method jointly recognized by the supplier and the buyer shall be taken as the nominal weight.
3.3 Selection of weight tolerance
3.3.1 Corresponding to a certain weight tolerance level, the weight tolerance value should be selected from Table 1 according to the range of the nominal weight.

3.3.2 For the selection of small batches and single-piece castings, please refer to Appendix A Table A.1 for the selection of weight tolerance grade.
For the selection of poor grades, please refer to Appendix B, Table B.1.
3.3.3 Under normal circumstances, the weight tolerance is selected according to the symmetry tolerance.
3.3.4 Weight tolerances with special requirements shall be indicated in drawings or technical documents.
4 Labeling method
4.1 When the weight tolerance of the casting is used as the basis for acceptance, it should be indicated in the drawings or technical documents.
4.2 When the weight tolerance is symmetrical tolerance, it is marked as. GB/T 11351MT10.
4.3 When the upper and lower deviations of the weight tolerance are different, they should be marked separately.
5 Inspection methods
5.1 The inspection method for the weight tolerance of castings adopts the weighing method. The nominal weight of the castings and the weight of the castings to be inspected should select the same accuracy level
Weighing instruments.
5.2 If the weight is actually within the tolerance range, the weight of the casting to be inspected is qualified.
