Foreword
Sub-clauses 4.2.2, 4.4 of this Standard are mandatory; the rest are
recommendatory.
This Standard replaces GB 8569-1997 “Packing of solid chemical fertilizers”.
Compared with GB 8569-1997, the main differences in this Standard are as
follows.
- made separate requirements for solid chemical fertilizers and packing
materials that are classified as dangerous goods and that are not
dangerous goods;
- when packing in plastic woven bags or composite plastic woven bags, the
bag type with the contents of 50kg was changed to "B-bag or C-bag";
- modified the technical specifications of the upper seam number and the
upper seam strength of the package;
- added the method for detecting the number of stitches in the upper seam
of the package;
- modified the requirements for package drop test;
- recommended two types of degradable plastics as materials for the inner
bag of fertilizer packaging;
- modified the sampling table of solid chemical fertilizer package.
Annex A of this Standard is normative.

Association.
This Standard shall be under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee
on Fertilizer and Soil Conditioner of Standardization Administration of China
(SAC/TC 105).

Packing of solid chemical fertilizers
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marks,
transport and storage for packing materials of solid chemical fertilizers as well
as packages.
This Standard is applicable to the packing of solid chemical fertilizers such as
nitrogen, phosphate, potash, compound fertilizer (composite fertilizer) and other
types.
2 Normative references

through reference in this Standard. For dated references, the subsequent
amendments (excluding corrigendum) or revisions do not apply to this Standard,
however, parties who reach an agreement based on this Standard are
encouraged to study if the latest versions of these documents are applicable.

dropping target shall be a hard, inelastic, flat and level surface.
5.6.5 Test steps (using same piece).
The first time. drop face-1 or face-3;
The second time. drop face-2 or face-4;
The third time. drop face-5 or face-6.
6 Inspection rules
6.1 For the technical requirements test of each batch of fertilizer package, in
addition to the upper seam strength and drop test items, the tests of other items
shall be carried out in accordance with the “special inspection” specified in
Annex A. When the inspection is determined as unqualified according to the
“qualified quality level”, it shall be carried out according to “one strict inspection”.
When the strict inspection is still unqualified, the batch of fertilizer package shall
be unqualified packing.
6.2 The test of the strength of the upper seam shall be performed at least once
a month. Extract samples from the batches determined as qualified by 6.1
inspection. The sampling and qualification determination are same as 6.1.
6.3 The drop test of fertilizer package shall be carried out at least once every
month. Extract three packages from the batches determined as qualified by 6.2
inspection according to the random sampling rules. If a package is determined
to be unqualified by inspection, the batch of fertilizer package shall be
determined to be unqualified packing.
7 Marks
The fertilizer package shall be marked according to the nature of the materials
contained in accordance with GB 18382.
8 Transport and storage
8.1 The transport tools for fertilizer packing materials shall be clean, flat, and
free of sharp objects to avoid piercing the package.
8.2 The fertilizer package shall be stored in a warehouse that is flat, cool,
ventilated and dry. Do not allow open storage so as to prevent sun and rain.
The storage of products with special requirements shall comply with the
corresponding product standards. Stacking height shall be less than 7m.
