1 General Provisions
1.0.1 This code is formulated with a view to normalizing the design of electronic information system
room, guaranteeing the safe, stable and reliable function of the electronic information system and
living up to the requirements of economy and rationality, safety and usability, and energy-efficient and
environmental protection.
1.0.2 This code is applicable to the design of the new-built, rebuilt and extended electronic information
system rooms under construction.
1.0.3 The design of the electronic information system room shall follow the principle of coordinating
the scale of the priori可 construction with long-term development project.
1.0.4 Not only the requirements stipulated in this code, but those in the current national standards
and codes also shall be complied with for the design of electronic information system room.
2 Terms
2.0.1 Electronic information system
Composed by computers, communication equipme时, treating plant, control equipment and
correlative supporting facilities, it is the man-machine system which conducts the collection, processing,
memory, transmission and indexing of the information, according to certain application purposes and

It mostly refers to the location which supply operating environment for the electronic information
equipment. It may be one building or part of a building, and it includes computer room, auxiliary area,
support area, and administrative area.
2.0.3 Computer room
It mostly is used as the space for installation and operation of the electronic information handling
processing, memory and transmission equipment, and it includes server room, network room and
memory room.
2.0.4 Auxiliary area
It is used for the installation, debugging, maintenance, operation monitoring and management,
and it includes incoming compartment, test room, monitoring centr, spare parts store, printing room
and maintenance room.

It is used for the support and indemnification the treating process of the information and the
necessary technology operation, and it includes switching room, diesel generator room, UPS system
room, battery room, air conditioning room, power station, fire fighting room, and fire-fighting and
security control room.
2.0.6 Administrative area
It is used for the clients to conduct the routine administrative management on the equipment, and
it includes staff office, hallway, attendant cabin, washroom, changing room and user studio.
2.0. 7 Infrastructure
It refers to the facility which supplies operation indemnification for the electronic information
system in the electronic information system room.
2.0.8 Electromagnetic interference (E肌11)
It refers to the adverse e旺ects caused by radiation or conductive electromagnetic energy to the
equipment or signal transmission.
2.0.9 Electromagnetic shielding
It refers to using conducting material to reduce the penetration of the alternating electromagnetic
field into appointed area.
2.0.10 Electromagnetic shielding enclosure
It refers to the architectural space dedicated to attenuating and isolating the energy from the
interior or exterior electric field and magnetic field.
2.0.11 Cut-off waveguide vent
It is the one-piece device which combines the cut-off waveguide and vent, which not only permits
the ventilation, but is able to attenuate the electromagnetic wave in certain 丘巳quency band.
2.0.12 Modular electromagnetic shielding enclosure
According to the design requirements, the prepared and shaped shielding module board, structures,
and shielding assembly are assembled on the construction site, to compose modular electromagnetic
shielding enclosure.
2.0.13 Welded electromagnetic shielding enclosure
It refers to the electromagnetic shielding enclosure whose major structure adopts field welding
2.0.14 Redundancy
It refers to some or total assembly of the repeated configured system; while the system breaks
down, the redundant configuration will step in and assume the work of the breaking- downs to reduce
the downtime.
2.0.15 Base requirement
The system satisfies the base requirement without redundancy.
2.0.16 N+X redundancy
Besides the base requirement, the system increases X units , X modules or X loaf paths. The
malfunction or maintenance of any of the X units, modules and paths shan ’t result in system outage.
2.0.17 Fault tolerant
It means that the system is configured with at least two sets of configuration; in the same
moment, at least two systems are at work. For the field equipment configured as tolerant system, it
shall be able to take one severe outburst equipment failure or artificial misoperation event without
influencing the operation of the system.
2.0.18 Array cabinet
It refers to the equipment which supply network layout, transmission service or distribution
management in rows or according to functional area; in general, it locates on the tip of the row of

This system adopts computer technology and electronic wiring equipment to conduct real-time
management of the patch flexible cord of the wires in the room.
2.0.20 Telecommunications outlet (TO)
It refers to the information socket modules of all kinds of cables or optical fiber cable terminals.
3 Classification and Performance Requirements of the Rooms
3.1 The Classification of the Rooms
3.1.1 The electronic information system room shall be divided into three Classes, that is, Class A, B
and C. And its corresponding Class shall be determined according to the serviceability, management
requirements of the room and its importance in the economy and society.
3.1.2 If one of the following conditions is met, then the electronic information system room shall be
Class A.
1 Interruption of operation of the electronic information system may create vital economic loss;
2 Interruption of operation of the electronic information system may create serious confusion
for the public.
3.1.3 If one of the following conditions is met, then the electronic information system room shall be
Class B.
