1 Scope
This Standard specifies the determination of volatile substances in resin of food contact
materials and products.
This Standard is applicable to the determination of volatile substances in polystyrene
resin of food contact materials and products.
2 Principle
At 138°C~140°C, under 85.3kPa, the loss weight of specimen after drying for 2h minus
the mass of drying loss weight is the mass of the volatile substances.
3 Reagents and Materials
Butanone (C4H8O).
4 Apparatus
4.1 Balance. sensibility of 0.1mg.
4.2 Ultrasonic cleaning device. operating frequency of 35kHz.
