disinfectant
1 Scope
This standard specifies the raw material requirements, technical requirements,
inspection methods, methods of use, identification of disinfectant materials
used for surface disinfection of ordinary objects.
This standard applies to all types of disinfectants for the disinfection of surfaces
of ordinary objects.
2 Normative references

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1
Ordinary object surface
Surfaces of articles, utensils, equipment and facilities in various places such
as schools, childcare institutions, medical and health institutions, public
places, families, etc., as well as walls and floors.
3.2
Ordinary objects surface disinfectant
A preparation used to kill microorganisms contaminated on the surface of
ordinary objects and achieve disinfection effect.
4 Requirements for raw material
4.1 Chlorine-containing disinfectants: The sodium hypochlorite shall comply
with the requirements of "Hygienic quality technical specifications of sodium
hypochlorite disinfectants"; calcium hypochlorite shall meet the requirements of
"Hygienic quality technical specifications of bleaching powder and bleaching
powder disinfectants (trial)"; other chlorine-containing disinfectants shall
comply with relevant national and industry standards.
4.2 Bromine-containing disinfectant: It shall meet the requirements of GB/T
26370.
4.3 Peroxide disinfectant: It shall meet the requirements of GB/T 26371.
4.4 Chlorine dioxide disinfectant: It shall meet the requirements of GB/T 26366.
4.5 Alcohol disinfectant: It shall meet the requirements of GB/T 26373.
4.6 Phenolic disinfectant: It shall meet the requirements of GB/T 27947.
4.7 Quaternary ammonium disinfectant: It shall meet the requirements of GB/T
26369.
Note 2: When the instruction manuals indicate that in addition to the surface of ordinary objects, it is
also used for other disinfection objects, or indicated of the killing effect for other
microorganisms, it needs to increase the corresponding target microorganism killing test.
Note 3: Choose either the natural bacteria or simulated field test.
5.3 Safety indicators
5.3.1 Toxicological indicators
5.3.1.1 Acute oral toxicity test: The product is in its original form, or the solution
with a maximum of 5 times the maximum concentration shall be practically non-
toxic.
5.3.1.2 The mutagenicity test shall be negative.
5.3.1.3 A complete skin irritation test shall be non-irritating or lightly irritating
(applicable if the product manual does not indicate personal protection)
5.3.2 Metal corrosion
It should use the product concentration that the corrosivity is mild (inclusive) to
metal; it shall not cause damage to the material of the disinfection object.
6 Inspection methods
6.1 Physical-chemical indicators
6.1.1 The effective ingredient content of the product shall be determined in
accordance with the methods specified in the "Technical specification for
disinfection" (2002 edition) or other corresponding national standards and
product quality standards. The pH value is measured in accordance with the
method specified in the "Technical specification for disinfection" (2002 edition).
6.1.2 Stability test: It shall be determined in accordance with the methods
specified in the "Technical specification for disinfection" (2002 edition) or other
corresponding national standards and product quality standards.
6.2 Microbial killing test
It shall be determined in accordance with the "Technical specification for
disinfection" (2002 edition) or other corresponding national standards.
6.3 Toxicological test
It shall be determined in accordance with the "Technical specification for
disinfection" (2002 edition) or other corresponding national standards.
and dosage as recommended in Appendix A for disinfection.
8 Marking
8.1 Marking
The product’s packaging mark shall comply with the provisions of GB 190 and
GB/T 191.
8.2 Label
The product’s label shall meet the requirements of the relevant specifications
and standards for the disinfectant product’s label manual.
8.3 Instruction manual
It shall meet the requirements of the relevant specifications and standards of
the label instructions for disinfecting products; at the same time, the product
instructions shall indicate the following precautions:
- According to the different characteristics of the object to be disinfected,
choose and use the appropriate disinfectant.
- Disinfectants shall not be taken orally; it shall be kept out of the reach of
children.
- Most of the disinfectants used for surface disinfection of objects have
different degrees of corrosiveness, so it shall be used with caution when
the use concentration is moderately corrosive to the corresponding
materials of the objects to be disinfected. After disinfection until the action
time is completed, use clean water to wipe or rinse the disinfected object to
remove residual disinfectant.
- When sprinkling / spraying or vaporizing to sterilize the surface of objects,
doors and windows shall be sealed. After the disinfection is completed, it
shall be ventilated for more than 30 minutes; personnel is only allowed to
enter after the disinfectant residue in the ambient air is lower than the
corresponding national standard requirements. At the same time, personal
protection shall be paid attention to during the disinfection process.
- Disinfectants that need to be diluted and disinfectants used after activation
shall be used immediately after preparation.
- If the human body is inadvertently contacted, it shall be rinsed with clean
water immediately. If it hurts the eyes, seek medical treatment as soon as
possible.

1 Scope
This Standard specifies technical requirements, inspection methods, use
methods, user manual and labels as well as precautions for use of surface
disinfectants of general subjects.
This Standard is applicable to various types of disinfectants for preventive
surface disinfection of general subjects.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1 preventive disinfection
Disinfection of items and locations that may be contaminated by pathogenic
microorganisms.
3.2 general subject surface
Surfaces of utensils, articles and facilities in various places such as schools,
child care institutions, medical and health institutions, public places, families,
etc.
3.3 general subject surface disinfectant
Preparation for killing microorganisms on the surface of general subjects to
achieve disinfection effect.
4 Technical requirements
4.1 Commonly-used disinfectants
4.1.1 Chlorine-containing disinfectant: Calcium hypochlorite shall meet the
requirements of GB/T 10666. Sodium hypochlorite shall meet the requirements
of GB 19106.
4.1.2 Bromine-containing disinfectant: it shall meet the relevant quality
requirements of the country.
4.1.3 Peroxide disinfectant: Hydrogen peroxide shall meet the quality
requirements of GB 1616. Peroxyacetic acid shall meet the quality
requirements of GB 19104. Chlorine dioxide, including liquid and solid
preparations and chlorine dioxide gas generated by chlorine dioxide generators,
shall comply with relevant national quality requirements.
4.1.4 Alcohol disinfectant: Alcohol disinfectant ethanol shall meet the
requirements of Pharmacopoeia of People's Republic of China.
4.1.5 Phenolic disinfectant: Cresol, p-chloro-m-diphenol and trichloro
hydroxydiphenyl ether shall meet the relevant quality requirements.
4.1.6 Quaternary ammonium salt disinfectant: Bromo-geramine shall meet the
requirements of Pharmacopoeia of People's Republic of China.
4.2 Requirements for raw materials
Raw materials shall comply with relevant regulations of the country and industry
standards.
4.3 Product quality requirements
6 Use methods
6.1 Use manner
6.1.1 Wipe: Use tap water to dilute the disinfectant to the concentration for use.
Moisture a clean cloth to wipe the subject.
6.1.2 Soak: Use tap water to dilute the disinfectant to the concentration for use.
Completely soak the subject into the disinfectant. Act till the specified time.
6.1.3 Spray: Use tap water to dilute the disinfectant to the concentration for use.
Use a conventional sprayer or ultra-low volume sprayer to spray. Act till the
specified time. Open windows for ventilation.
6.2 Dosage
See Annex A for the dosage of common disinfectants.
6.3 Flow rinse: For on-site prepared disinfectants for on-site use, place the item
to be disinfected at the outlet of disinfectant, continuously rinse till the specified
time.
7 User manual, labels and packaging marks
The user manual, labels shall comply with relevant provisions of Specification
for the management of label instructions for disinfection products. The
packaging marks shall comply with the provisions of GB 190 and GB/T 181.
8 Precautions for use
8.1 According to the different characteristics of the subject to be disinfected,
choose to use different disinfectants.
8.2 Disinfectants in this category are only used to disinfect the general subject
surface. They must not be taken orally. Keep out of the reach of children.
8.3 Under the concentration of use, the disinfectant with moderate
corrosiveness to the metal is used for the disinfection of the corresponding
metal items with caution. Disinfectants that are highly corrosive to metals are
used with caution in disinfection of general subject surface. If the disinfectant is
corrosive to metals and has bleaching and fading effects on fabrics, it shall be
used with caution. Disinfectants that are moderately corrosive to metals may
not be used for a long time. When the disinfectant used is corrosive to the
subject, it shall use clean water to wipe or rinse after acting for a specified time.
