GB26134-2024 GB NATIONAL STANDARD OF THE PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA ICS 43.040.60 CCS T 26 Replacing GB 26134-2010 Roof crush resistance of passenger cars ISSUED ON. AUGUST 23, 2024 IMPLEMENTED ON. JULY 01, 2025 Issued by. State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of the People’s Republic of China. Table of Contents Foreword... 3 1 Scope... 4 2 Normative references... 4 3 Terms and definitions... 4 4 Technical requirements... 5 5 Test method... 5 6 Determination of the same type... 8 7 Implementation of the standard... 8 Roof crush resistance of passenger cars 1 Scope This document specifies the technical requirements, test method and determination of the same type for the roof crush resistance of passenger cars. This document applies to M1 vehicles and not to convertibles. 2 Normative references The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including any amendments) applies. GB 11551 The protection of the occupants in the event of a frontal collision for motor vehicle 3 Terms and definitions For the purpose of this document, the following terms and definitions apply. 3.1 sunroof Fixed or movable (slide and/or tilt) roof cover. 3.2 front windshield trim Any trim between the front windshield and the outer surface of the roof. 3.3 raised roof The raised area on the roof system (located on the top of the passenger compartment, consisting of the frame, panel interior and related body accessories). 3.4 altered roof A replacement roof that is higher than the original roof after the original roof of the vehicle has been partially or completely removed. NOTE. If part or all of the original roof of the vehicle is replaced by a roof with safety glass material and the replacement roof is installed on the same plane as the original roof, the roof is not considered to be an altered roof (such as T-roof and sunroof). 3.5 roof over the front seat area The part of the roof in front of the horizontal vertical plane 162 mm rearward from the H point, when the front outer seats are in the rearmost and lowest locking position. NOTE. It includes the front windshield trim. 4 Technical requirements According to the test method specified in Clause5, for vehicles with symmetrical body structures, one side is randomly selected to apply the load; for vehicles with asymmetrical body structures, the weaker side of the body structure is selected to apply the load. The load is 3.0 times the curb weight of the vehicle or 45.0 kN (take the smaller of the two). When the load reaches the specified value, the movement of the lower surface of the loading device shall not be greater than 127 mm, and the combined force on the head model shall not be greater than 222 N (g is 9.8 N/kg). 5 Test method 5.1 Before the test, support the vehicle so that its tires are off the ground, rigidly fix the vehicle’s sill beams and frame (if applicable) on a horizontal plane, adjust the vehicle so that the longitudinal tile angle at the sill beams on both sides is 0° ± 0.5°, and the difference of the vertical distances between the reference point on the lower surface of the sill beams on both sides and the horizontal plane is not greater than 10 mm. Close all windows, close and lock all doors, and close all sunroofs and sunshades. Remove the roof rack and other non-structural parts. At the manufacturer’s request, the test may be carried out using a body-in-white with all the components necessary for the test installed. 5.2 The front outer seats of the vehicle are adjusted to the specified positions as follows. a) For the longitudinally adjustable front outer seats, they shall be locked in the middle position of the travel or the rearward position closest to the middle position; if they are individually adjustable in the vertical direction, they shall be adjusted to the design position specified by the manufacturer or middle position. mm from the transverse vertical plane 254 mm forward of the foremost point of the outer surface of the roof, and the foremost point of the outer surface of the roof includes the front windshield glass trim located on the longitudinal vertical plane passing through the longitudinal centerline of the vehicle. 5.6 For vehicles with raised roofs or altered roofs, adjust the position of the loading device in accordance with the provisions of 5.5.If the contact point between the loading device and the roof is located on the raised roof or altered roof behind the roof above the front seat area, the position of the loading device shall be adjusted so that the midpoint of the rear edge of its lower surface is within a range of no more than 10 mm from the last transverse vertical plane of the roof above the front seat area. 5.7 Move the loading device straight downward in a direction perpendicular to its lower surface. The loading speed shall not exceed 13 mm/s until the load specified in Clause 4 is reached. The loading process shall be completed within 120 seconds, and the loading device shall not rotate during the loading process. 5.8 Measure the movement of the lower surface of the loading device, which is the distance between the initial position of the lower surface of the loading device and the corresponding position when the load specified in Clause 4 is reached; measure the combined force on the head model during the loading process and record the maximum value. 6 Determination of the same type If the following provisions are met, it is considered to be the same type. a) The body structure type is the same (load-bearing/semi-load-bearing/non-load- bearing, one-compartment/two-compartment/three-compartment, whether the left and right are symmetrical); b) The number and structure type of the sunroof (if any) are the same; c) The internal dimensions of the passenger compartment are the same, the type of body frame material is the same, the body frame size is the same or the structure is strengthened; d) The curb weight of the vehicle is the same or reduced, or increased by no more than 8 %. 7 Implementation of the standard For new models applying for type approval, implementation will begin from the date of implementation of this document. ...
