1 Scope
This Standard specifies the limits for the removable surface powder and water-
extractable protein of medical gloves.
This Standard is applicable to disposable medical rubber examination gloves,
disposable sterile rubber surgical gloves, disposable medical nitrile rubber examination
gloves, disposable medical examination gloves and PVC disposable non-sterile rubber
surgical gloves.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this Standard.
3.1 Powder
Under test conditions, all water-insoluble deposits that can be cleaned and removed
by water on the surface of medical gloves.
3.2 Powered glove
It refers to the gloves that are usually produced according to powder coating procedure
during manufacturing, for easy wearing.
3.3 Powder-free glove
It refers to the gloves that are consciously produced not according to powder coating
procedure; or it consciously gets rid of powdering although it adopts powder coating
