This Part was drafted as per the rules specified in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This Part replaced GB/T 14048.3-2008 Low-Voltage Switchgear and Controlgear - Part
3.Switches, Disconnectors, Switch-Disconnectors and Fuse-Combination Units.
Compared with GB/T 14048.3-2008, this Part has the major technical differences as
follows.
--- Delete the definitions of “(mechanical) switch, switch-disconnector, multi-contact
system, (mechanical switchgear) dependent manual operation, (mechanical
switchgear) independent manual operation, (mechanical switchgear) energy-
storage operation” from Clause 2 “Terms and Definitions”; directly refer to IEC
60947-1 for the above-mentioned definitions; additionally, add new terms of
“switch-fuse, fuse-switch, disconnector-fuse, fuse-disconnector, switch-
disconnector-fuse, and fuse-switch-disconnector”, which are divided into single-
opening and double-opening ones; add corresponding terms and definitions
under each Clause.
--- Modify Table 1 “Summary of Equipment Definitions”; add the relevant definitions
and graphical symbols;
--- Add 4.8 “Co-ordination with short circuit protective devices (SCPD)”;
--- Delete 7.1.1, 7.1.2, 7.1.3, 7.1.4, 7.1.5 from “7.1 Constructional Requirements”;
the relevant contents can directly refer to IEC 60947-1.Modify sub-clause

1 Basic Requirements
The provisions of the general rules dealt with in IEC 60947-1 are applicable to this part,
where specifically called for. Clauses and subclauses, tables, figures and appendices
of the general rules thus applicable are identified by reference IEC 60947-1, e.g.,
4.3.4.1 of IEC 60947-1, Table 4 of IEC 60947-1, or Annex A of IEC 60947-1.
2 Terms, Definitions and Index of Terms
Fuse-disconnector which provides an opening in the circuit on at least one side of the
fuse-link that satisfies the requirements specified for the isolating function.
3 Classification
According to the method of operation of manually operated equipment
4 Characteristics
Utilization categories with suffix B are appropriate for devices which, due to design or
application, are only intended for infrequent operation. This could apply, for example,
to disconnectors normally only operated to provide isolation for maintenance work or
switching devices where the fuse-link blade forms the moving contact.
5 Product Information
The markings for a), b) and c) below shall be on the equipment itself or on a name-
plate or name-plates attached to the equipment, and shall be located at a place such
that they are legible from the front after mounting the equipment in accordance with
the manufacturer's instructions.
6 Normal Service, Mounting and Transport Conditions
Clause 6 of IEC 60947-1 applies with the following addition.
Pollution degree (see 6.1.3.2 of IEC 60947-1).
7 Constructional and Performance Requirements
The strength of the actuating mechanism and the reliability of the indication of the open
position shall be checked according to 8.2.5.Moreover, when means are provided by
the manufacturer to lock the equipment in the open position, locking shall only be
possible when the main contacts are in the open position (see 8.2.5).
8 Tests
A test shall be made to verify the correct mechanical operation of the equipment by 5
closing and opening operations.
Sampling tests for verification of clearances shall be made according to 8.3.3.4.3 of
IEC 60947-1 in accordance with a recognized sampling plan (see GB/T 2828.1).
