1 Scope
This standard specifies the method for measuring the hairiness of short fiber yarns using an optical projection type hairiness tester.
This standard applies to.
a) Cotton yarn and cotton fiber yarn;
b) Wool yarn and wool fiber yarn;
c) Hemp yarn;
d) Spun spun yarn;
e) Medium and long fiber yarn;
f) Various blended yarns.
This standard does not apply to high elastic yarn, bulk yarn and fancy yarn.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
