Automobile Fuel Tank Cap and Refill Opening
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the type, connection size, relevant technical requirements, test
methods, inspection rules, marking, package, transportation, storage for the
automobile fuel tank cap and refill opening.
This Standard is applicable to the automobile fuel tank cap and refill opening.
2 Normative References
The following standards contain provisions which, through reference in this Standard,
constitute provisions of this Standard. At the time of publication, the editions indicated
are valid. All standards are subject to revision. The parties who are using this Standard
shall explore the possibility of using the latest version of the following standards.

3 Automobile Fuel Tank Cap, Refill Opening Type and
Connection Size
The fuel tank cap and refill opening can be divided into groove-type and thread-type.
3.1 The groove-type fuel tank cap, refill opening type and connection size shall be
implemented as per Figures 1~4 and Table 1.

4 Technical Requirements
4.1 After the fuel tank cap and refill opening are locked, they must have reliable sealing
performance, and conform to the provisions of 4.6 in QC/T 644.
4.2 After the fuel tank cap and refill opening are locked, they must have sound self-
locking and anti-loose performance, and conform to the corresponding provisions of
4.12 in QC/T 644.
4.3 The housing of the fuel tank cap shall have anti-slip pattern or handle, which shall
be firmly connected with other parts of the fuel tank cap. When assembling and
disassembling the fuel tank cap, other joints shall not be loose.
4.4 The gasket of the fuel tank cap shall use the oil resistant rubber with Shore A
hardness (40~60) HA. After the oil resistance is implemented as stipulated in 5.4, the
percentage change in volume is in the range of -5%~+5%; hardness change value
(Shore A) is in the range of (-7~+5) HA.
4.5 For the fuel tank cap equipped with intake valve, its valve performance shall
conform to the provisions of QC/T 644.
4.6 For the fuel tank cap equipped with safety valve, its valve performance shall
conform to the provisions of GB 18296.
NOTE 1: In case the integrate sealing is ensured after the fuel tank cap is locked with refill
opening, the protective cover, anti-theft lock, and other structures can be added.
NTOE 2: The shape of fuel tank cap and the structures of intake valve, safety valve and gasket
are not specified; which shall be determined through the negotiation between the supplier and
