Foreword
QB/T 4096 is the first part of the series of performance standards for household and
similar indoor heaters. It is a general requirement. This part is QB/T 4096.23-2011
Performance of room heaters for household and similar purposes - Part 23. Particular
requirements for visibly glowing radiant heaters.
This Part should be used together with QB/T 4096-2010 Performance of room heaters
for household and similar purposes - Part 1. General requirements.
This part is formed by modification or addition of QB/T 4096-2010. Where it states
"applicable", it means that the corresponding provisions in QB 4096-2010 apply to this
part; where it states "replacement", it means that the provisions in this part shall prevail;
where is states “modification”, it means that the modified content of the related
provisions in the corresponding clauses of QB/T 4096-2010 shall prevail, and the rest

additional provisions in this part shall, at the same time, meet the related provisions in
QB/T 4096-2010.
The additional provisions of QB/T 4096 will be numbered from 101.
This Part was proposed by the China Light Industry Federation.
This Part shall be under the jurisdiction of the National Household Electrical
Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC46).

Performance of room heaters for household and similar purposes -
Part 22. Particular requirements for visibly glowing radiant heaters
1 Scope
This chapter of QB/T 4096-2010 is replaced by the following contents.
This Part specifies the terms and definition, product classification, requirements,
testing methods, inspection rules, as well as marking, packaging, transportation,
storage of visibly glowing radiant heaters for household and similar purposes
(hereinafter “heaters”).
This part is applicable to heaters – for single-phase appliance, the rated-voltage is not
more than 250V; for other appliances, the rated-voltage is not more than 480V; the
heaters are used in household or similar venues. The heaters can be portable, fixed,
standing etc.
This part is not applicable to.
- Heaters installed in the structure of a building;
- Central heating system;
- Heaters connecting air ducts;
- Wallpaper, blanket, curtain or tube with flexible electric heating components;
- Household room heaters of thermal storage type;

2 Normative references
This chapter of QB/T 4096-2010 is applicable.
3 Terms and definitions
This chapter of QB/T 4096-2010 is applicable except for the following content.
3.101 Steady state
work normally when the environmental temperature is (7±3) °C.
5.10 Addition
The motor is an electric motor that can implement the forced ventilation function.
5.11 Addition
The heater body rotation mechanism should be able to withstand the test of 100
thousand times continuous rotation. After the test, the body rotation mechanism can
still function normally, and the breakage of any wire of the multiple-stranded-wire that
passes through the moving parts should not exceed 10%.
Note 101. One-rotation refers to the movement -- starting from the stop position, turn
to the maximum rotation angle, then turn to the other side of maximum rotation angle,
and then turn back to the stop position.
5.101 Cold water impact of electric heating elements
Glass or ceramic electric heating elements that are likely to be splashed by water
during normal use should be able to withstand the impact test of cold water at (5±1) °C,
without blasting or other damage.
5.102 Thermal overload
The appliance should be able to withstand the 30 times of cycle thermal overload test.
After the test, the heater will not generate flame, melt or any other damage that cannot
be repaired. Meanwhile, pressure test shall be carried out immediately according to
the provisions of GB 4706.23 Chapter 16, and no breakdown or flashover shall occur.
5.103 Body rotation performance
5.103.1 The rotating mechanism of the heater body should have a switch or a device
that controls the rotation and the start/stop of the heater.
5.103.2 The rotating mechanism of the heater body should be able to automatically
and continuously rotate, requiring a smooth movement (except for the moment of start
of the rotating mechanism and reversal of rotation).
5.103.3 The rotation angle of the heater body shall not be less than 60°, and should
not be lower than the indicated value.
