1 Scope
This Standard specifies the dimension, shape, weight, allowable deviations, technical
requirements, inspections and tests, reinspection, package, marking and quality
certificates of 08Ni3DR and 06Ni9DR steel plates for low-temperature pressure
vessels.
This Standard is applicable to 08Ni3DR and 06Ni9DR steel plates for low-temperature
pressure vessels produced by Baoshan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd., among which
08Ni3DR has a temperature range of -100°C~100°C and thickness range of
5mm~80mm; while 06Ni9DR has a temperature range of -196°C~100°C, and
thickness range of 5mm~40mm.

3 Information Required for Ordering
When ordering, the user needs to provide the following information, which is sufficient
to explain the required materials:
a) Product standard number;
b) Designation;
c) Specifications and edge status;
d) Weight;
e) Others (such as special requirements, etc.).
4 Dimension, Shape, Weight and Allowable Deviation
4.1 The allowable deviation of the thickness of the steel plate is in accordance with the
requirements of Class B in GB/T 709-2006. According to the requirements of the
purchaser, after agreement between the supplier and the purchaser, the requirements
of Class C in GB/T 709-2006 can also be met.

5.3.3 The 06Ni9DR steel plate is delivered in the state of quenching and tempering
(indicated by the symbol "QT"). For steel plates with a thickness of 12mm or less, they
shall be delivered in the state of normalizing + tempering (indicated by the symbol
"NNT") for twice. The tempering temperature shall be no lower than 540°C.
5.3.4 According to the requirements, the supplier is allowed to perform reheat
treatment. The number of quenching for reheat treatments is no more than 2 and the
number of tempering is unlimited.
5.3.5 Generally, the edge state of the steel plate is delivered by shearing or flame
cutting.
5.4 Mechanical and Process Properties
5.4.1 The mechanical and process properties of steel plates shall comply with the
requirements of the corresponding Table 2.
5.4.2 Impact absorption energy is the average of the test results of a group of three
specimens. The test results of one of the samples are allowed to be less than the
specified value, but no less than 70% of the specified value.
5.4.3 For steel plates with a thickness of less than 12mm, Charpy impact tests shall
use auxiliary specimens. For steel plates with a thickness of> 8mm ~ < 12mm, the size
of the auxiliary specimen is 7.5mm × 10mm × 55mm, and the test results shall be no
less than 75% of the values specified in Table 2. For steel plates with a thickness of
6mm~8mm, the size of the auxiliary specimen is 5mm × 10mm × 55mm, and the test
results shall be no less than 50% of the values specified in Table 2. For steel plates
with a thickness of 5mm ~ < 6mm, the size of the auxiliary specimen is 2.5mm × 10mm
× 55mm, and the test results shall be no less than 25% of the values specified in Table
2.
5.4.4 After the bending test, there shall be no visible cracks on the outer surface of the
specimen.
