1 Scope
This Standard specifies the dimension, shape, mass and tolerance for wire rods.
This Standard is applicable to the various steel wire rods with diameter of 5mm~28mm
manufactured by Baoshan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd.

4 Dimension, Shape and Tolerance
4.1 The nominal diameter and cross-sectional area of the wire rod shall conform to the
provisions of Table 1.
4.2 The diameter tolerance and out-of-roundness of the wire rod shall conform to the
provisions of the corresponding precision levels specified in Table 1. The out-of-
roundness indicates the difference between the maximum diameter and minimum
diameters on the same cross-section of the wire rod.
