Cold-rolled Carbon Structural Steel and Steel Strip
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification and code, sizes,
shapes, weights, technical requirements, inspection and test, packaging, marking and
inspection documents of cold-rolled carbon structural steel and steel strip. This
technical specification is applicable to cold-rolled carbon structural steel and steel strip
manufactured by BAOSHAN Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. with a thickness of 0.50 mm ~ 3.0
mm (hereinafter referred to as steel plate and steel strip).
2 Normative References
The following documents are indispensable to the application of this document. In
terms of references with a specified date, only versions with a specified date are
applicable to this document. In terms of references without a specified date, the latest
version (including all the modifications) is applicable to this document.

4 Information Required for Ordering
4.1 When ordering, the user shall provide the following information:
a) Product name (steel plate or steel strip);
b) Technical specification No.;
c) Designation;
d) Product specifications, sizes and unevenness accuracy;
e) State of margin;
f) Grade of surface quality;
g) Packaging mode;
h) Purpose;
i) Others.
4.2 If the order contract does not indicate the sizes and unevenness accuracy, the
surface quality grade, the state of margin and packaging mode, then, the products of
this technical specification shall be supplied as trimmed steel strips or trimmed steel
plates in accordance with the ordinary sizes and unevenness accuracy, Grade-FB
surface quality, and be packed in accordance with the packaging mode provided by
the supply-side.
5 Sizes, Shapes, Weights and Permissible Deviations
The sizes, shapes, weights and permissible deviations of steel plates and steel strips
shall comply with the stipulations of Q/BQB 401.
6 Technical Requirements
6.1 Chemical Composition
6.1.1 The chemical composition (smelting analysis) of steel shall comply with the

6.5.1 On the surface of the steel plates and steel strips, there shall be no defects that
are detrimental to the use, such as: holes, surface cracks and laminations, etc.
6.5.2 The characteristics of the various surface quality grades of the steel plates and
steel strips shall comply with the stipulations of Table 7.

6.5.3 For steel strips, since there is no change to remove the defective part, the steel
strips are allowed to be delivered with defects, but the defective part shall not exceed
6% of the total length of each coil.
6.6 Surface Structure
When the surface structure is pitted (D), the average roughness Ra shall be controlled
in accordance with 0.6 μm < Ra ≤ 1.9 μm.
7 Inspection and Test
7.1 The appearance of the steel plates and steel strips shall be inspected through the
naked eye.
7.2 The sizes and shapes of the steel plates and steel strips shall be measured with
appropriate measuring tools.
7.3 The tensile test shall comply with Method B of GB/T 228.1. In order to improve the
reproducibility of the measurement results, it is recommended to use the beam
displacement control method, and the yield strength measurement rate is 5% Lc/min
(Lc is the parallel length of the specimen).
7.4 The steel plates and steel strips shall be inspected and accepted in batches. Each
inspection batch shall be composed of steel plates and steel strips of the same
designation, the same specifications and the same processing state with a weight of
not greater than 30 tons. For steel strips with a weight of not greater than 30 tons, each
steel coil shall constitute an inspection batch.
