This Document stipulates the size, shape, technical requirements, inspection and testing,
packaging, marking and inspection documents of continuously hot-rolled special steel sheet
and strip.
This Document applies to the continuously hot-rolled special steel strips with a maximum
thickness of no more than 20mm produced by Baoshan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. and the steel
sheets cross-cut therefrom, hereinafter referred to as steel sheet and steel strip. The products are
mainly used to manufacture saw blade substrates, engineering machinery, parts in automobiles
and other fields after further processing and heat treatment.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this Document, there are no terms and definitions apply.
4 Classification and Code
4.1 The designations, product categories of steel sheets and strips can refer to Table 1.
4.2 According to surface treatment methods, it can be divided into the following:
a) Pickled surface;
b) Rolled surface.
4.3 According to the surface quality level, it can be divided into the following:
a) Ordinary surface, FA;
b) Advanced surface, FB.
quality level and whether they are coated or not are not specified, they shall be delivered by a
trimmed state, a higher-level surface and oiled state. If the inner diameter of the steel coil is not
specified, it shall be delivered with an inner diameter of 610mm.
6 Dimensions, Appearance, Weight and Allowable Deviations
6.1 The allowable roughness values for carbon steel and all alloy steels with a specified average
C content of greater than or equal to 0.40% shall be determined through negotiation between
the supplier and the purchaser.
6.2 Other dimensions, appearances, weights and allowable deviations of steel sheets and strips
shall be in accordance with the provisions of Q/BQB 301. The allowable deviation of thickness
shall comply with the provisions of Table 3 in Q/BQB301. For carbon with an average C content
of less than 0.40%, the allowable steel roughness value is in accordance with the provisions
with the minimum yield strength greater than 300MPa and no greater than 420MPa.
6.3 If the user has higher requirements for thickness accuracy, the user can choose the advanced
precision PT.C with a minimum yield strength Re specified in Table 4 of Q/BQB 301 of no less
than 360MPa when ordering.
7 Technical Requirements
7.1 Designation and chemical composition
7.1.1 The designation and chemical composition (smelting analysis) of steel shall comply with
the requirements in Tables 2 to 3.
7.1.2 The analytical values of the corresponding chemical elements specified in Tables 2 ~ 3
shall be reported in the quality certificate. If the user requires reporting of analytical values of
other chemical elements, it needs to be negotiated and agreed upon by both parties and specified
in the contract.
7.1.3 The allowable deviation of the chemical composition of finished steel sheets and strips
shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 222.
7.3 Delivery status
Steel sheets and strips are delivered in hot-rolled or controlled-rolled condition. If required by
the purchaser, the product can be delivered in an annealed state after negotiation between the
supplier and the purchaser and noted in the contract.
7.4 Surface treatment methods
7.4.1 The surface treatment methods of steel sheets and strips can take two methods, such as
rolled surface and pickled surface.
7.4.2 When steel sheets and strips have hot-rolled pickled surfaces, they are usually supplied
with oil. The oil film shall be removable with alkali aqueous solution. Under normal packaging,
transportation, loading and unloading and storage conditions, the supplier shall ensure that it is
manufactured within 3 months from the date of completion, and the surface of the steel sheet
and strip shall not rust. After negotiation between the supplier and the purchaser, and indicating
in the contract, the hot-rolled pickled surface can also be supplied without oiling.
NOTE: For non-oiled products required by the purchaser, rust may occur, and the surface may be slightly
scratched during transportation, loading, unloading, storage and use.
7.5 Recommended quenching temperatures and corresponding quenching hardness
When the steel sheets and strips supplied according to this Document are used, the
recommended quenching temperatures and corresponding quenching hardnesses of some
designations under different cooling media are listed in Appendix A (informative).
7.6 Surface quality
7.6.1 The surface of steel sheets and strips shall not have bubbles, cracks, scars, pull cracks,
folds, inclusions and other defects that are harmful to use. The steel sheets and strips shall not
have delamination. The steel sheets and strips with pickled surfaces shall not have any parking
spots.
7.6.2 Steel sheets and strips are divided into two levels according to surface quality, as shown
in Table 4.
7.6.3 For steel strips, since there is no opportunity to cut off the defective part of the strip; the
steel strip is allowed to be delivered with defects, but the defective part shall not exceed 5% of
the total length of each coil.
8.5 Sampling frequency
8.5.1 Sampling frequency for chemical composition analysis
Smelting analysis of chemical composition by furnace.
8.5.2 Sampling frequency of other items
When other items are inspected according to contract requirements, they should be carried out
in batches, and the composition of the inspection batch shall be agreed upon when ordering.
8.6 Reinspection
8.6.1 If a certain test result does not meet the standard requirements, double the number of
specimens will be taken from the same batch for reinspecting the unqualified item.
8.6.2 If the reinspection results (including all indicators required for the test of the item) are
qualified, the entire batch shall be qualified. If even one indicator of the reinspection results
(including all indicators required for the test of the item) fails, the reinspection shall be
unqualified.
8.6.3 If the reinspection is unqualified, the individual pieces that have been tested and have
unsatisfactory test results cannot be accepted, but the single pieces of the batch of materials that
have not been tested can be resubmitted for testing and acceptance one by one.
9 Packaging, Marking and Inspection Documents
The packaging, marking and inspection documents of steel sheets and strips shall comply with
the provisions of Q/BQB 300.
10 Numerical Rounding Rules
The numerical judgment adopts the rounding value comparison method, and the numerical
rounding shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 8170.
