the reducer (see 3.1.10 of the 1999 Edition);
--- Modify the provisions on the cleanliness of the reducer inner cavity and its inspection
method (see 3.1.9 of this Edition; 3.1.12 of the 1999 Edition);
--- Modify the provisions on electric power per unit area during electric heating (see 3.1.13
Cylindrical Reduction Gear Units - Part 1: General
Technical Requirement
1 Scope
This Part of JB/T 9050 specifies the technical requirements, testing, inspection and marking,
packaging and transportation of cylindrical gear reducers.
This Part applies to single-stage, two-stage, three-stage and four-stage cylindrical gear reducers
(hereinafter referred to as reducers) with a center distance α≤1000 mm at the low-speed stage;
and also applies to single-stage, two-stage and three-stage planetary gear reducers (hereinafter
referred to as reducers) with planetary carrier radius R≤300 mm at the low-speed stage.

3 Technical Requirements
3.1 General requirements
3.1.1 Reducer is allowed to normally work under the following range:
a) Ambient temperature is -20°C ~ 45°C.
NOTE 1: When the ambient temperature is lower than 0°C, the lubricating oil shall be preheated
before starting.
b) The maximum speed of the high-speed shaft shall not exceed 3000 r/min.
NOTE 2: When the speed of the high-speed shaft exceeds 1800 r/min, the technical requirements
of the reducer shall be determined through consultation between the manufacturer and the user.
c) The peripheral speed of external meshing involute cylindrical gears shall not exceed 25
m/s, and the peripheral speed of internal meshing involute cylindrical gears shall not
exceed 20 m/s.
d) The working environment of the reducer shall be a corrosion-free.
e) The selection of lubricating oil for the reducer shall comply with the provisions of JB/T
8831.
3.1.2 The reducer shall be allowed to withstand the load of twice the short-term overload
generated when the motor starts. The total cycle time of the permissible short-term overload
shall be specified in the standard or technical conditions of the specific type of reducer.
3.1.3 The service life of the reducer is no less than 25 000 h. The service life of bearing is no
less than 10 000 h.
3.1.4 The precision of gears shall be no lower than the provisions in Table 1.
3.1.9 The cleanliness of the inner cavity of the reducer shall comply with the provisions of Class
C in JB/T 7929-1999.
3.1.10 The position error of the centerline of the anchor bolt hole shall be no greater than 0.2
(D-d) mm.
NOTE: D - the nominal diameter of the anchor screw hole, in millimeters (mm); d - the nominal diameter
