Vicat softening temperature and strain rate are the type inspection items, which are spot-checked once every 30 batches. If there is any item, that does not meet the requirements of this standard in the inspection results, it shall take double amount of specimens, from the batch of products, for re- inspection of the unqualified items. It is determined according to the re-inspection results. If the re-inspection results still do not meet the requirements of the index, the re- inspection shall be performed on a sheet-by-sheet sampling basis. If it does not meet the requirements of this standard, it shall be treated as a non-conforming product. 7.5 When there is any disagreement between the supplier and the buyer, on the quality of the product, it can be resolved through negotiation between the two parties, OR arbitrated by the statutory quality inspection department. 8 Marking, packaging, transportation, storage 8.1 Marking Each package shall have a clear and firm sign, indicating the name, specification, trademark, grade, batch number, color, net content, production date, manufacturer, etc. of the product. It shall be packaged with adhesive paper or kraft paper, polyethylene film, crates or other materials. The adhesive paper or kraft paper, polyethylene film, etc., which are used for surface protection, shall be easy to remove AND not cause surface contamination or damage. The inside of the box shall be tightly packed with padding, AND a packing list shall be attached. 8.3 Transportation Poly (methyl methacrylate) cast sheets shall be kept clean during transportation. It shall not be stored, in contact with organic solvents. They shall be handled with care, to avoid damage to the packaging and products. This product is non-hazardous. 8.4 Storage Poly (methyl methacrylate) cast sheets shall be stored in a ventilated and dry room. It shall not be stored with organic solvents during storage. Appendix A (Normative) Determination of dimensional change (shrinkage) after heating A.1 Specimen Cut 3 square specimens, which have a side length of 100 mm ± 2 mm, from the sample sheet. Their positions are approximately equal along the width of the sample. Dry at a temperature of 70 °C ± 2 °C for 48 h. Then cool to room temperature, in a desiccator (18 °C ~ 28 °C; 23 °C ± 2 °C if in disputes). For in-line quality control tests, this drying stage can be omitted, BUT is required when in dispute. Mark the 4 sides AND measure each length, accurate to 0.02 mm. A.2 Heating program Place the specimen horizontally on the flat plate on the shelf in the oven. Keep the oven temperature at 160 °C ± 2 °C. Take suitable measures, to prevent the specimen from sticking to the plate, e.g., cover the plate with a layer of talc. The heating time depends on the thickness of the sheet AND shall be in accordance with Table A.1. Table A.1 -- Heating time Thickness/mm Time/min 1.5 ~ 5 60 > 5 75 Note: The specimen warps when heated, its size is difficult to measure. To reduce warpage, lightly spread a layer of talcum powder on the lead plate (0.5 mm). Place the specimen on the plate. Place it on the frame or shelf, which is larger and thicker than the specimen. Leave space around the specimen, to prevent expansion of the specimen. Then lightly spread a layer of talcum powder on the specimen. Place the second lead plate on the specimen and the shelf. Use clips to clamp the two lead plates tightly together. A.3 Cooling program Cool the specimen to room temperature (18 °C ~ 28 °C; 23 °C ± 2 °C in case of dispute) in a desiccator. Then measure 4 sides, accurate to 0.02 mm. A.4 Calculation The change in the length of each side of each specimen is calculated as a percentage of the initial value. Calculate the average value of the change of the four sides of each specimen, as well as the average value of the change of the 3 specimens of the batch. ......
