Aluminium and aluminium alloys cold drawn (rolled)
seamless tubes
1 Scope
This Standard specifies requirements, test methods, inspection rules and marks,
packaging, transport, storage as well as quality certificate and contract (or order
sheet) content of aluminium and aluminium alloys cold drawn (rolled) seamless
tubes for general industrial use (hereinafter referred to as the tubes).
This Standard is applicable to the tubes of which the outer diameter is not more
than 120.00 mm.
2 Normative references
The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of
this document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated
references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including any
amendments) applies.

The mark of the tubes is indicated in the order of product name, designation,
state, specification and standard number. The marking examples are as follows:
Example 1: The fixed-length round tube, of which the designation is 3003, the
state is O, the outer diameter is 10.00 mm, the wall thickness is 2.00 mm, the
length is 1500 mm, is marked as:
Tube 3003-O Φ10×2.0×1500 GB/T 6893-2010
Example 2: The rectangular tube, of which the designation is 2024, the state is
T4, the side length is 45.00 mm, the width is 45.00 mm, the wall thickness is
3.00 mm, the length is indefinite, is marked as:
Rectangular tube 2024-T4 45×45×3.0 GB/T 6893-2010
3.2 Chemical composition
The chemical composition of the tubes shall comply with the provisions of GB/T
3190.
3.3 Size deviation
The size deviation of the tubes shall meet the requirements for the general level
in GB/T 4436. When high precision is required, it shall be indicated in the
contract (or order sheet).
3.4 Mechanical properties
The tensile strength and elongation after break of the tubes shall meet the
requirements of Table 2. The specified non-proportional extension strengths of
5A03, 5A05, 5A06 tubes are shown in Table 2. The non-proportional extension
strengths of other tubes shall meet the requirements of Table 2.
4 Test methods
4.1 Chemical composition
The chemical composition of the tubes is analyzed by GB/T 7999 or GB/T
20975. Arbitration analysis shall be implemented in accordance with the
provisions of GB/T 20975.
4.2 Size deviation
The wall thickness of the tubes shall be measured by a measuring tool with an
accuracy of not less than 0.01 mm. The outer diameter is measured by a
measuring tool with an accuracy of not less than 0.02 mm.
4.3 Mechanical properties
The tensile test at room temperature of the tubes is carried out according to
GB/T 228.
4.4 Microstructure
The microstructure inspection of the tubes shall be carried out according to
GB/T 3246.1.
4.5 Eddy current flaw detection
The eddy current flaw detection of the tubes is carried out according to
GB/T5126.
4.6 Appearance quality
Visually inspect the appearance quality of the tubes. When the defect depth
cannot be determined, the grinding method can be used to measure. For tubes
with an inner diameter of 12.00mm~50.00mm, it may use an endoscope to
inspect the inner surface.
5 Inspection rules
5.1 Inspection and acceptance
5.1.1 The tubes shall be inspected by the supplier’s technical supervision
department. Ensure that the quality of the tubes meets the requirements of this
Standard and the contract (or order sheet). Fill in the quality certificate.
5.1.2 The purchaser shall inspect the tubes received in accordance with the
provisions of this Standard. When the inspection result does not conform to the
Appearance
quality Inspect one by one 3.7 4.6
a The manufacturer can sample according to the heat treatment furnace. In arbitration, conduct
sampling by batches.
5.6 Determination of inspection result
5.6.1 When the chemical composition is nonconforming, if the melting order can
be distinguished, this melting order shall be determined as nonconforming.
Other melting orders are inspected in sequence. Only the conforming products
are delivered. If the melting order cannot be distinguished, this batch of tubes
shall be nonconforming.
5.6.2 When the size deviation or the appearance quality is nonconforming, the
tubes are determined as nonconforming.
5.6.3 When the longitudinal tensile mechanical properties at room temperature
are nonconforming, take another double number of samples from the batch
(furnace) (including those that failed the original inspection) to repeat the test.
When the repeated test is conforming, this batch (furnace) of tubes is
determined as conforming. If the repeated test results still fail, this batch
(furnace) of tubes is determined as nonconforming. But the supplier is allowed
to inspect piece by piece. Or reinspect after reheating treatment. Only the
conforming products are delivered.
5.6.4 When the microstructure is nonconforming, if the heat treatment furnace
order can be distinguished, this furnace order is determined as nonconforming.
Other furnace orders are inspected in sequence. Only the conforming products
are delivered. If the furnace order cannot be distinguished, this batch of tubes
shall be nonconforming.
5.6.5 When the eddy current flaw detection is nonconforming, this tube is
determined to be nonconforming.
6 Marks, packaging, transport, storage and quality
certificate
6.1 Marks
6.1.1 The packaging box mark of the tubes shall meet the requirements of GB/T
3199.
6.1.2 The end of the tubes, of which the outer diameter is greater than 30.00
mm, shall be printed with the following marks:
