This Standard applies to machined graphite type, tamping type, metal type and investment casting type produced titanium and titanium alloy castings. 2 Normative references The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including any amendments) applies. GB/T 228.1, Metallic materials - Tensile testing - Part 1.Method of test at room temperature GB/T 231.1, Metallic materials - Brinell hardness test - Part 1.Test method GB/T 3623, Titanium and titanium alloy wire GB/T 4698 (all parts), Methods for chemical analysis of titanium sponge, titanium and titanium alloys GB/T 5677, Castings - Radiographic testing GB/T 6414, Castings - Dimensional Tolerances and Geometrical Tolerances and Machining Allowances GB/T 8170, Rules of rounding off for numerical values & expression and judgment of limiting values GB/T 8180, Wrought titanium and titanium alloy products packing marking transporting and storing GB/T 9443, Steel and iron castings - Liquid penetrant inspection GB/T 15073, Casting titanium and titanium alloys GB/T 20967, Non-destructive testing - Visual testing - General principles 3 Ordering instructions The contract or order form for ordering castings shall state the following. a) name and number of this Standard; b) product name, designation or code, supply state, casting quantity and drawing number; c) technical requirements and acceptance criteria; d) other matters that need to be explained. 4 Technical requirements 4.1 Materials 4.1.1 The master alloy ingots used for smelting and pouring shall be smelted by vacuum arc remelting, induced electricity, plasma arc, induction condensing shell, electron beam melting and other methods 4.1.2 When using sponge titanium as the raw material, the master alloy ingot shall be smelted at least twice. 4.1.3 It is allowed to use the processed return material of the same designation as the raw material. 4.2 Supply state 4.2.1 Castings can be supplied in the following states. as-cast (C), annealed (M), hot isostatic pressing (HIP) or hot isostatic pressing (HIP) + annealed (M), etc. 4.2.2 When the buyer has special requirements for the supply state of castings, it shall be negotiated by both parties, and shall be indicated in the contract or technical agreement. 4.3 Chemical compositions The chemical compositions of castings shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 15073. 4.4 Mechanical properties 4.4.1 The room temperature mechanical properties of the attached casting samples of the castings shall meet the requirements in Table 1. 4.4.2 Sampling from the body of the casting is allowed, where the sampling locations and room temperature mechanical property indexes shall be agreed upon by both parties. 4.6.3 Castings are not allowed to have cracks and penetrating defects; the requirements for the sealing surface of the castings shall be indicated in the drawing, contract or technical agreement. 4.6.4 Other surface defects shall meet the visual acceptance criteria listed in the contract or technical agreement. 4.6.5 When the buyer has special requirements for the surface quality of castings, it shall be negotiated by both parties. 4.6.6 When it is required by the buyer and indicated in the contract or technical agreement, the surface of the casting can be subjected to a non-destructive inspection in accordance with GB/T 9443 or agreed upon by both parties. 4.7 Internal quality When it is required by the buyer and indicated in the contract or technical agreement, the castings can be subjected to a radiographic inspection, where the inspection methods and quality judgment standards shall be in accordance with the requirements of GB/T 5677, or shall be negotiated by both the supplier and the buyer. For thick and large castings that are difficult to inspect by radiography, other inspection methods can be used, and the specific inspection methods and quality judgment standards shall be negotiated by both parties. 4.8 Welding repair 4.8.1 Except for the parts that are not allowed to be repaired -- required by the parts drawings, contracts or technical agreements -- all exposed pores, shrinkage holes, porosity, cracks, inclusions and dimensional defects after grinding on the casting are allowed to be repaired by welding. Before welding repair, the defective parts shall be thoroughly cleaned until the bright metal surface is exposed. 4.8.2 Defects exposed during processing, or defects found by radiographic inspection, can be repaired by welding as needed. 4.8.3 Welding repair shall be carried out under vacuum or argon protection; the solder joints shall not have oxidative bluing. 4.8.4 The filler wire shall generally be made of the material of the corresponding designation of the casting or the material of the same type and a lower strength level; its quality shall meet the requirements of GB/T 3623.Before welding, the surface of the welding wire shall be clean, and if there is oil pollution, it shall be cleaned. 4.8.5 During the welding repair, the supplier shall formulate the welding procedure, which shall be completed by a welder with corresponding qualifications. The supplier shall keep relevant process documents and welder qualification certification documents. 5.3 The hardness test of castings shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 231.1. 5.4 The surface quality inspection of castings shall be carried out according to the visual method of GB/T 20967 or the provisions of GB/T 9443. 5.5 The radiographic inspection of castings shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 5677. 6 Inspection rules 6.1 Inspection and acceptance 6.1.1 The castings shall be inspected by the quality supervision department of the supplier to ensure that the quality of the castings conforms to the provisions of this Standard, and a quality certificate shall be filled out. 6.1.2 The buyer may re-inspect the received castings according to the provisions of this Standard. If there is any objection to the re-inspection results, the buyer shall give feedback to the supplier within 90 days of receiving the castings, otherwise, it is deemed that the acceptance is accepted. 6.1.3 When the buyer conducts casting inspection at the supplier’s site, the supplier shall provide the buyer with all reasonable and necessary facilities for the production of castings in accordance with this Standard. The inspection work of the buyer shall not interfere with the work of the supplier. 6.1.4 When the supplier and the buyer have any objection to the inspection results, they shall be resolved through negotiation or an arbitration analysis conducted by a third party. The arbitration analysis result shall be regarded as the final result of judging whether it conforms to this Standard. 6.2 Batching The castings shall be submitted for inspection in batches, and each batch shall consist of castings of the same designation, the same raw material batch number, the same production process, and the same state. There shall be no more than 20 smelting heats per batch. 6.3 Inspection items Each batch of castings shall be inspected for chemical compositions, mechanical properties, geometric dimensions, and surface quality. When special inspection items are required, they shall be negotiated by both parties and shall be indicated in the contract. 6.4 Sampling location and number of samples ......
