Table of Contents Foreword ... 3 1 Scope ... 5 2 Normative References ... 5 3 Terms and Definitions ... 5 4 Calculation Principles of Plan Dimensions of Transport Packages ... 6 5 Modular Dimensions of Transport Packages ... 6 6 Plan Dimensions of Transport Packages ... 6 7 Height Dimension of Transport Packages ... 10 Foreword This Standard was drafted in accordance with the rules provided in GB/T 1.1-2009. This Standard serves as a replacement of GB/T 4892-2008 Dimensions of Rigid Rectangular Packages - Transport Packages. In comparison with GB/T 4892-2008, the main changes are as follows: ---Terms and Definitions is added (see Chapter 3); ---“Chapter 3 Principle” of GB/T 4892-2008 is modified into “Chapter 4 Calculation Principles for Plan Dimensions of Transport Packages” (see Chapter 4; Chapter 3 of Version 2008); ---It is added that the plan dimensions of transport packages shall be obtained by arranging the packaging modular dimensions (see Chapter 4); ---600 mm  500 mm transport packaging modular dimension is added (see Chapter 5); ---The content of Chapter 5 of GB/T 4892-2008 is modified into the provisions in Table 1 of Chapter 6 (see Chapter 6; Chapter 5 of Version 2008); ---The “multiple” in No. 1 of Table 1 in Chapter 6 of GB/T 4892-2008 is modified into the “plan dimensions of the transport packaging arranged by the modular dimension of transport packages” (see Chapter 6; Chapter 6 of Version 2008); ---The plan dimension of the 1,200 mm  800 mm unit loads calculated based on the 600 mm  400 mm modular dimension of transport packages is added (see Chapter 6); ---The plan dimension of the 1,200 mm  1,000 mm unit loads calculated based on the 600 mm  500 mm modular dimension of transport packages is added (see Chapter 6). This Standard uses the re-drafting method to modify and adopt ISO 3394:2012 Packaging - Complete, Filled Transport Packages and Unit Loads - Dimensions of Rigid Rectangular Packages. In comparison with ISO 3394:2012, the technical differences and the causes for these differences are as follows: ---In terms of Normative References, this Standard makes adjustments with technical differences to adapt to the technical conditions of China. The adjustments are intensively reflected in Chapter 2 “Normative References”. See the specific adjustments below:  GB/T 4122.1 is used to replace ISO 21067;  ISO 6780 is deleted. ---Since load expansion is not involved in this Standard, the term “load expansion” is deleted; ---In order to main consistency with the provisions of GB/T 4892-2008, the modular dimension specified in Chapter 1 of ISO 3394:2012 are modified into Chapter 5; ---Since the 600 mm  400 mm modular dimension of transport packages can only be arranged to form a 1,200 mm  1,000 mm unit loads plan dimension, No. 3 in Table 1 of Chapter 6 is modified into “transport package plan dimensions arranged by transport package modular dimensions” (see Chapter 6; Chapter 6 of Version 2008); ---Since the 1,100 mm  1,100 mm plan dimensions cannot be fully utilized in the arrangement of 600 mm  500 mm transport package modular dimension into the transport package plan dimension of 1,100 mm  1,100 mm unit loads plan dimension, which does not comply with the calculation principles, the transport package plan dimension of 1,100 mm  1,100 mm unit loads plan dimension arranged and formed by the 600 mm  500 mm transport package modular dimension and its arrangement illustrations are deleted (including Figure 6); ---Since Figure 5 and Figure 7 respectively have arrangement illustrations in Figure 2 and Figure 4, Figure 5 and Figure 7 are deleted; ---Since the content specified in Chapter 7 is inconsistent with the title of the Chapter, Chapter 7 is deleted, and the content is incorporated into Chapter 6; ---Since the stacking example shown in the two figures on the right side of informative appendix A is not the stacking example drawing of two layers forming the same unit loads size, the informative appendix A is deleted. This Standard was proposed by and shall be under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee 49 on Packaging of Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC 49). The drafting organizations of this Standard: China Academy of Transportation Science; MYS Group Co., Ltd.; China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing (CFLP); Xiamen Changsu Industrial Co., Ltd.; Zhongbao Packaging Research Institute Co., Ltd.; Dali Prefecture Xiangyun Dayu Packaging Co., Ltd.
