Both Appendix A and Appendix B of this Standard are informative. Since the implementation date, this Standard replaced JB 3653-1984, GB/T 4780- 1984, GB/T 12484-1990. This Standard was proposed by State Administration of Machinery Industry. This Standard shall be under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee for Standardization of Automobile. The first-time published dates for GB/T 4780-1984 Terms for Motor Vehicle Body and GB/T 12484-1990 Terms for the Bus Body are November 1984 and September 1990, respectively. Terms for Motor Vehicle Body 1 Scope This Standard specifies the terms and definitions of vehicle body. This Standard is applicable to the vehicle body of car, bus and truck. 2 Classification This Standard divides the vehicle body terms into design terms, structure terms, part terms and accessory terms; those that are applicable to car shall be expressed by the Letter A; those that are applicable to the bus shall be expressed by Letter B; while those that are applicable to the truck shall be expressed by Letter C. 3 Design Terms The design terms shall refer to Table 1.
