1 Scope
This Standard specifies the terms and definitions, general principles, food
packaging materials and container selection requirements, packaging design
requirements for selection and design for food packaging.
This Standard is applicable to selection and design for food packaging materials
and containers.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.

6.2.1 Design for food packaging shall meet the protection requirements of the
contents during production, storage, circulation.

6.3 Requirements for being economical
6.3.1 Design for food packaging shall adopt packaging methods and packaging
patterns that facilitate the maximum use of food.
6.3.2 According to food consumption characteristics, food packaging can be
used to store food in separate packaging, repeated opening.
6.3.3 Design for food packaging shall reduce the amount of stickiness on the
food packaging after the food is eaten.
6.3.4 It shall select design for food packaging methods that extend the shelf life
of food.
6.3.5 It shall, according to different food consumption rates, consider the per
capita serving size and other factors for design for food packaging.
6.3.6 Design for food packaging can consider factors including consumer group,
age, gender, location.
6.4 Requirements for environmental protection
6.4.1 Design for food packaging shall meet the requirements of GB 23350.
6.4.2 Under the premise of ensuring the volume and strength of food packaging,
it shall save materials and reduce packaging volume and weight.
6.4.3 It shall, according to food production, storage, circulation, and
consumption methods, including but not limited to factors such as saving
transportation space and recycling materials, carry out design for food
packaging.
6.4.4 Design for food packaging shall reduce the number of types of materials.
The packaging that uses composite material structure shall be designed as a
detachable structure.
6.4.5 Multi-purpose design for food packaging shall consider its reuse value.
6.4.6 Design for food packaging shall consider the treatment of food packaging
waste and shall meet the requirements of GB/T 16716.1.
6.5 Requirements for convenience
6.5.1 Design for food packaging shall consider its convenience in the process
of production, storage, circulation, consumption.
6.5.2 Design for food packaging shall conform to the principles of ergonomics
and be convenient for consumers to carry, open.
