Foreword
This Part of GB/T 3903 identically adopts the International Standard ISO
19957.2004 Footwear - Test methods for heels - High pin holding strength and
Cor. 1.2005 (E). They are exactly identical in technical content. This Part of
GB/T 3903 only makes the following editorial modifications.
a) modified “this European Standard” to “this Part of GB/T 3903” (Translator
Note. Original text in Chinese is European Standard);
b) used decimal point “.” to replace “,” which was used as decimal point;
c) deleted the foreword of ISO 19957.2004;
d) deleted the table of contents of ISO 19957.2004;
e) merged technical errors Cor. 1.2005 (E) of ISO 19957.2004 into this Part,
and used double solid line to mark on the right side;
f) directly used a national standard as reference which is corresponding to
the EN standard that was used as reference in ISO 19957.2004;
g) modified “complying with the requirements of EN 7500-1 class 2” to
“complying with the requirements of GB/T 16825.1 class 2” in 4.1;
h) for easy use, added Annex A to make graphical representation to the
structure and dimensions of standard heel pin.
Annex A of this Part is informative.

This Part shall be under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee on
Footwear of Standardization Administration of China.

High pin holding strength
1 Scope
This Part of GB/T 3903 specifies a test method for measuring the force required
to pull a single heel pin out of a heel. This test method can be used to measure
the heel pin holding strength of heel materials by using a standard heel pin and
a method of insertion, or it can be used to assess the heel nailing of commercial
production.
This Part is applicable to testing plastics and wooden heels for women’s
footwear.
Heels composed of layers of fiberboard or leather and low plastics heels for
men’s footwear cannot be tested by this Part.
2 Normative references
The following standards contain the provisions which, through reference in this
Part of GB/T 3903, constitute the provisions of this Part. For dated references,
subsequent amendments (excluding corrections) or revisions do not apply to
this Part. However, the parties who enter into agreement based on this Part are
encouraged to investigate whether the latest versions of these documents are
applicable. For undated reference documents, the latest versions apply to this
Part.
