3 Classification
In accordance with methods of application and processing, steels can be divided into
2 types as follows.
a) Steel for pressure work UP
1) Hot pressure processing UHP
2) Cold pressure processing UCP
b) Steel for cut work UC
Methods of steel application and processing shall be indicated in the contract.
4 Content of Ordering
Contract or order of steels that are purchased in accordance with this Part shall include
the following content.
a) Serial number of this Part;
b) Product name;
c) Nameplate (refer to 6.1);
d) Smelting method (refer to 6.2);
e) Product specification;
f) Dimension, appearance and allowable deviation (refer to Chapter 5);
g) Status of delivery (refer to 6.3);
h) Weight (or quantity);
i) Special requirements.
5 Dimension, Appearance and Weight
5.1 Dimension, appearance and allowable deviation of hot-rolled round steel and
square steel shall comply with the stipulation in 5.1.1 in GB/T 1299-2014.
5.2 Dimension, appearance and allowable deviation of hot-rolled flat steel shall comply
with the stipulation in 5.1.2 in GB/T 1299-2014.
contract.
8 Inspection Rules
8.1 Inspection and Acceptance Check
Quality inspection and acceptance check of steels shall be undertaken by the supply
side’s technical quality supervision department. If necessary, the demand side is
entitled to inspect and conduct acceptance check in accordance with the stipulations
in this Part.
8.2 Batch Rules
8.2.1 Steels shall be inspected and accepted by batch. Each batch shall be constituted
of steels of the same nameplate, furnace number, processing purpose, delivery status,
specification and thermal treatment furnace number.
8.2.2 Each batch of electro-slag re-melting steel shall be constituted of steel under the
same sub-furnace number, processing purpose, delivery status, specification and
thermal treatment furnace number. On the premise of guaranteeing stable technique
and compliance with various requirements in this Part, a batch can be formed in
accordance with the primary furnace number of electro-slag re-melting. However, 1
PCS shall be taken as a sample from each sub-furnace number for the chemical
composition test.
8.3 Sampling Size and Position
The sampling size and position of steel test shall comply with the stipulation in Table
5.
8.4 Re-inspection and Determination
8.4.1 When the inspection result fails to comply with the requirements in this Part, re-
inspection can be conducted. Re-inspection and determination shall comply with the
stipulations in GB/T 17505.
8.4.2 The various measured value of steel inspection shall be revised in accordance
with revised value comparison method. Rules of numerical revision shall comply with
the stipulations in GB/T 8170.
9 Packaging, Marking and Certification
Packaging, marking and certification of steel shall comply with the stipulations in GB/T
2101.
