Evaluation method of energy
saving grade for gas burner
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the energy saving grade index and energy saving grade
evaluation method of gas burner.
This Standard is applicable to general industrial gas burner; not applicable to
non-oxidizing burner, regenerative burner, self-heating burner, high-speed
burner, porous media burner, civil burner and other special burners.
2 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
2.1 combustion efficiency
the percentage of the actual amount of heat released after the fuel burns taking
in the heat released after it is completely burned
NOTE. Combustion efficiency is an important indicator to examine the adequacy of fuel
combustion.
2.2 excess air coefficient
the mass percentage between the air mass actually applied by burning per
kilogram of fuel and the air required by completely burning per kilogram of fuel
theoretically
2.3 effective furnace volume
geometric volume of space for fuel combustion and effective radiative heat
transfer process within the furnace boundary
2.4 furnace volume heat release rate
the heat release per unit time of the effective volume of the unit furnace, its
value is equal to the ratio of the furnace input heat power to the furnace effective
volume
