This Part is Part 1 of GB/T 34484. This Part was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009. This Part uses redrafting method to modify and adopt ISO 683-1:2016 “Heat- treatable steels, alloy steels and free-cutting steels - Part 1: Non-alloy steels for quenching and tempering”. Compared with ISO 683-1:2016, this Part made structural adjustments. Annex A lists the comparison on sub-clause number between this Part and ISO 683- 1:2016. This Part has technical differences compared with ISO 683-1:2016. The terms involved in these differences have been marked by a vertical single line (∣) on the outer margins. Annex B lists corresponding technical differences and reasons. For the ease of use, this Part made the following editorial modifications: - modified the standard name to “Heat-treatable steels - Part 1: Non-alloy steels”; - deleted the Bibliography in ISO 683-1:2016. This Part was proposed by China Iron and Steel Association. This Part shall be under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee on Steels of Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC 183). The drafting organizations of this Part: Northeast Special Steel Group Beiman Special Steel Co., Ltd., Metallurgical Industry Information Standards Institute. Main drafters of this Part: Qian Chengyun, Yan Chengming, Luan Yan. Heat-treatable steels - Part 1: Non-alloy steels 1 Scope This Part of GB/T 34484 specifies classification and codes, ordering content, size, shape, weight, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marks and quality certificate for heat-treatable non-alloy steels. This Part is applicable to the rolled bars with a nominal diameter or thickness not greater than 310mm (hereinafter referred to as the steel). 2 Normative references The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including any amendments) applies. GB/T 222, Permissible tolerances for chemical composition of steel products GB/T 223.11, Iron, Steel and Alloy - Determination of Chromium Content - Visual Titration or Potentiometric Titration Method (GB/T 223.11-2008, ISO 4937:1986, MOD) GB/T 223.23, Iron, Steel and Alloy - Determination of Nickel Content - The Dimethylglyoxime Spectrophotometric Method GB/T 223.26, Iron, Steel and Alloy - Determination of Molybdenum Content - The Thiocyanate Spectrophotometric Method GB/T 223.53, Methods for chemical analysis of iron, steel and alloy - The flame atomic absorption spectrophotometric method for the determination of copper content GB/T 223.60, Methods for chemical analysis of iron, steel and alloy - The perchloric acid dehydration gravimetric method for the determination of silicon content GB/T 223.62, Methods for chemical analysis of iron, steel and alloy; The butyl acetate extraction photometric method for the determination of phosphorus content 3 Classification and codes According to heat treatment delivery state, the classification and codes of the steel are: a) Normalizing N; b) Quenching and tempering QT. 4 Ordering content The contract or order placed under this Part shall include the following: a) Reference to this Part; b) Product name; c) Designation; d) Smelting method (see 6.2); e) Delivery state (see 6.3); f) Weight (or quantity); g) Size and shape (see Clause 5); h) Processing method; i) Special requirements. 5 Size, shape, weight 5.1 The size, shape and allowable deviation of the steel shall meet the relevant regulations of GB/T 702. Specific requirements shall be specified in the contract. 5.2 The steel is delivered by actual weight. After negotiation between the supplier and the purchaser, it can also be delivered by theoretical weight. 6 Technical requirements 6.1 Designation and chemical composition 6.1.1 The designation and chemical composition (melting analysis) of the steel 6.5 Macrostructure 6.5.1 There shall be no visible residual shrinkage holes, bubbles, cracks, inclusions, peeling, and white spots on the acid immersion macrostructure test piece of the steel cross section. 6.5.2 The conforming level of acid leaching macrostructure of the steel shall meet the requirements of Table 5. Table 5 -- Macrostructure structure defect and conforming level 6.6 Grain size According to the requirements of the purchaser, the actual grain size of the steel can be inspected. The grain size is level 5 or finer. 6.7 Surface quality The surface of the steel shall be smooth, without cracks, folds, scars and scales. If the above defects exist, local grinding is allowed. However, the maximum grinding point shall ensure the minimum allowable size of the steel. 6.8 Special requirements Agreed by the supplier and the purchaser and indicated in the contract, it can carry out non-metallic inclusion inspection, ultrasonic inspection. The specific conforming level is determined through negotiation between the supplier and the purchaser. 7 Test methods 7.1 The inspection items and test methods of each batch of the steel shall meet the requirements of Table 6. 7.2 The chemical composition of the steel is analyzed according to GB/T 4336, GB/T 20123 or general test methods. However, the arbitration shall be based on the regulations of GB/T 223.11, GB/T 223.23, GB/T 223.26, GB/T 223.53, GB/T 223.60, GB/T 223.62, GB/T 223.64, GB/T 223 .69, GB/T 223.72. Table 6 -- Inspection items 8 Inspection rules 8.1 Inspection and acceptance 8.1.1 The inspection and acceptance of the steel exiting the factory are carried out by the supplier’s quality and technical supervision department. 8.1.2 The supplier must ensure that the delivered steel meets the provisions of this Part or the contract. When necessary, the purchaser has the right to inspect and accept any inspection items specified in this Part or the contract. 8.2 Batching rules The steel shall be inspected and accepted by batches. Each batch shall be composed of steels of the same designation, the same heat number, the same variety, the same size, and the same heat treatment system (heat). 8.3 Sampling quantity and sampling site The sampling quantity and sampling site of each batch of steel inspection items shall meet the requirements of Table 6. 8.4 Reinspection and rules for determination The reinspection and determination of steel shall meet the requirements of GB/T 17505. ......
