Spark test of insulated cores 1 Scope As for the spark test of insulated cores (electric wires), this part of GB/T3048 stipulates the terms and definitions, test facilities, specimen preparation, test procedures, test result and assessment, calibration of test facilities, and test records. This part is suitable for testing the insulating layer quality of insulated cores of rubber and plastic insulated electric cables and wires; it can be used to implement the intermediate test and routine test of electric cables and wires. It cannot be used to test the insulation products of conducting cores made of non-conducting materials. This part includes power frequency spark test and direct current spark test. That is to say, the test is implemented with power frequency spark machine and direct current spark machine. This part shall be used together with GB/T3048.1. 2 Normative references The articles contained in the following documents have become the articles of this part when they are quoted in this part of GB/T 3048. For the dated documents so quoted, all subsequent modifications (including all corrections) or revisions made thereafter do not apply to this standard. However, the parties who reach an agreement according to this standard are encouraged to study whether the latest versions of these documents may be used. For the undated documents so quoted, the latest versions (including all modification sheets) apply to this document. GB/T 2900.10-2001 Electrotechnical vocabulary - Electric cables (idt IEC 60050 (461).1984) GB/T 3048.1 Test methods for electrical properties of electric cables and wires - Part 1. General JB/T 4278.10 Verification procedure for test equipment of rubber plastic wire and cable - Part 10. Spark tester 3 Terms and definitions a) The diameter of the bead shall be 2 to 5mm; the space between the two neighboring beads in one bead chain shall not be more than 2.5mm; b) The loop is made of metal wire with the diameter of more than 0.8mm; and the outer diameter of the loop shall not be more than 5mm. If you choose oval or other forms, the vertical axis shall not be more than 5mm. For every 100mm long loop chain, the number of loops shall not be less than 20; c) The beads or loops of the chain shall be distributed uniformly. The surface shall be smooth; and any rags which may scratch the tested insulated cores shall not exist on the surface. Moreover, every bead or loop shall be flexible and compassable. Bead chain or loop chain shall be cross-banding. 4.4 Guard electrode Both ends of the testing electrode shall have grounded guard electrodes. The width of guard electrodes shall not be less than the width of testing electrode; the length of guard electrodes (axial direction) shall not be less than 15mm. The bead chain or loop chain being used shall comply with the testing electrode. The space between guard electrode and testing electrode shall ensure that, under the normal highest test voltage, the specimen insulator surface flashover can be avoided. 4.5 Safety protection interlocking device When the testing electrode box is opened, the device can automatically cut off the high voltage power supply. 4.6 Breakdown indicator Breakdown indicator is composed of a digital display counter and a sounding alarm; it can record every breakdown and give an alarm. The breakdown indicator shall keep the indicated number until the next breakdown is recorded or the indicator is reset manually. The alarm time of the sounding alarm can keep several seconds; and it can trigger the breaker to cut off high voltage power supply and drive system power supply. When necessary, it can intercept the triggering signal. 4.7 Sensitivity 4.7.1 Sensitivity test The sensitivity is tested with artificial breakdown device. In the artificial breakdown device test, the spark gap is formed by a metal plate and a metal pinpoint that is relatively rotated. In every second, the space between the metal plate and pinpoint can reach 0.25±0.05mm once. In power frequency spark test, the time of duration is 0.025s; in direct current spark test, the time of duration is 0.005s. As for the polarity of the pinpoint and metal plate, the pinpoint is negative electrode and the metal plate is positive electrode. 4.7.2 Lowest sensitivity test Under the non-loaded condition, the testing electrode voltage is set to power frequency 3kV (or direct c... ......
