The reliability test methods of drive motor system for
electric vehicles
1 Scope
This Standard specifies general reliability test methods of drive motor system for electric vehicles on test
bench, including reliability test load specifications and assessment methods.
This Standard applies to drive motor system for electric vehicles driven by electric motor or jointly driven
by engine and electric motor.
2 Normative Reference
The articles contained in the following documents become part of this Standard when they are quoted
herein. For the dated documents so quoted, all the modifications (Including all corrections) or revisions
made thereafter shall be applicable to this Standard.
GB/T 2900.13 Electrotechnical terminology - Dependability and quality of service
GB/T 18488 (all parts) The electrical machines and controllers for electric vehicles
GB/T 19596 Terminology of electric vehicles
QC/T 893-2011 Failure classification and assessment of electrical machine system for electric vehicle
3 Terms and definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 2900.13, GB/T 18488 (all parts), GB/T 19596, and QC/T
893-2011, and following definitions and terms apply to this document.
3.1
Continuous Torque
Maximum and long-term working torque - under specified S1 working system, and under rated voltage
and rated speed of automotive drive motor system.
3.2
Maximum Work Speed
Corresponding to motor speed of electric vehicles at the highest driving speed, at such speed
7.4.1 Allow shutdown one time; make an inspection tour for testing equipment and inspect fastener,
mechanical adapting piece and piping, especially the hose; and inspect connecting cable and port; in principle,
inspect the rack itself only.
7.4.2 Inspect liquid level of cooling liquid and whether there is a leak and other phenomena in cooling
system; supplement cooling liquid when necessary.
7.4.3 Time of shutdown inspection shall be no less than 0.5h.
7.5 Handling for Failure and Shut Down
7.5.1 Record the reason of each shutdown and operation contents.
7.5.2 In case of a failure, conduct failure analysis, eliminate failure and make a record.
7.5.3 The interrupted load cycle will not be included in reliability working hours of drive motor system.
In case that shutdown time is more than1h, then, 1h after cycle is started again will not be included in
reliability working hours of drive motor system.
8 Process Test Results
8.1 Record according to QC/T 893-2011, provide photos when necessary and conduct precise analysis.
8.2 Based on actual running time (h) of the drive motor system under tested and records during running,
evaluation is conducted according to Chapter IX.
9 Reliability Evaluation
9.1 Actual running time of the drive motor system under tested shall be no less than 402 h.
9.2 Mean time to first failure, number of failure shutdown and mean time between failures are used for
evaluating reliability test failure.
Mean Time to First Failure MTTFF
... (1)
... (2)
Where.
MTTFF - Estimatd value of mean time to first failure, the unit is in hour (h);
Test report shall at least include.
