High strength abrasion resistant steel plate, sheet and strip
for construction machine
1 Scope
This document specifies the designation representation method, ordering content, size,
shape, weight, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marks
and quality certificates for high strength abrasion resistant steel plate, sheet and strip
for construction machine.
This document applies to single-rolled steel plates with a thickness not greater than
120mm, steel sheets and strips and sheared steel plates with a thickness not greater than
25.4mm (hereinafter referred to as "steel plates, sheets and strips") for abrasion-
resistant structural components of engineering machinery such as mining machinery,
construction machinery and agriculture machinery. This document can be used as
reference for the abrasion-resistant steel plates, sheets and strips used in other fields.
2 Normative references
The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this
document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references,
the latest edition of the referenced document (including any amendments) applies.

3 Terms and definitions
This document does not have terms and definitions that need to be defined.
4 Designation representation method
The designation of steel consists of two parts: the first letter of the Chinese pinyin "NM"
for "abrasion resistant" and the specified surface Brinell hardness value. The
designation of steel with low temperature toughness requirements consists of three parts:
the Chinese pinyin initials "NM" for "abrasion resistant", the specified surface Brinell
hardness value and the quality level symbol (D, E).
Example 1: NM500
NM - the initials of the Chinese pinyin for "abrasion resistant";
500 - The value of surface Brinell hardness.
Example 2: NM500D
NM - the initials of the Chinese pinyin for "abrasion resistant";
500 - The value of surface Brinell hardness;
D - The symbol of quality level.
5 Ordering content
The contract or order for ordering according to this document shall include the
following contents:
a) Reference to this document;
b) Product name;
c) Designation;
d) Size and roughness accuracy;
added. The alloying elements and their content shall be indicated in the quality
certificate.
7.1.3 When Cu is used as a residual element in steel, its content shall not exceed 0.30%.
The As content shall not exceed 0.08%. If the supplier can guarantee it, no analysis is
required.
7.1.4 The carbon equivalent of steels that require low temperature toughness shall meet
the requirements in Table 3. See formula (1) for carbon equivalent calculation:
Where,
CEV - Carbon equivalent, %;
C, Mn, Cr, Mo, V, Cu, Ni - Mass fraction of the chemical composition of the steel that
requires low temperature toughness, %.
7.1.5 When the total aluminum (Alt) content is used for calculation, the Alt content
shall not be less than 0.015%. The Alt content of steel that requires low temperature
toughness shall not be less than 0.020%.
7.1.6 Agreed by the supplier and the purchaser and indicated in the contract, see Annex
A for the chemical composition of the TiC reinforced steel.
7.1.7 When the purchaser requires analysis of the chemical composition of the finished
product, the allowable deviation of the chemical composition of the finished product
shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 222.
7.2 Smelting method
Steel is smelted by converter or electric furnace. Carry out the refining outside the
furnace.
7.3 Delivery condition
The steel is delivered in the condition of quenching, quenching + tempering, TMCP +
tempering, or in the condition of hot rolling (steel in the condition of hot rolling before
heat treatment).
7.4 Mechanical and process properties
7.4.1 Hardness test
The surface Brinell hardness of steel plates, sheets and strips shall meet the
requirements in Table 4. When the purchaser has requirements for the Brinell hardness
of the center of the section, the requirements in Table 4 can be referred to after
7.4.5 The mechanical and technological properties of TiC reinforced steel plates, sheets
and strips can be determined through negotiation between the supplier and the purchaser.
7.4.6 Steel plates, sheets and strips delivered in hot-rolled condition are not subjected
to the mechanical property test. If the purchaser has special requirements, both parties
can negotiate.
7.5 Surface quality
7.5.1 There shall be no defects such as cracks, bubbles, scars, folds and inclusions on
the surface of steel plates, sheets and strips. There shall be no visible delamination. If
there are surface defects above, it is allowed to clean. The cleaning depth is calculated
from the actual size of the steel plate. It shall not exceed half of the steel plate thickness
tolerance. The minimum thickness of the steel plate shall be guaranteed. Defect
cleaning shall be smooth without edges and corners.
7.5.2 The surface of the steel plates, sheets and strips is allowed to have a thin layer of
iron oxide scale and rust that does not hinder the inspection of the surface, surface
roughness, scratches, indentations and other local defects caused by the peeling off of
the pressed iron oxide scale. But the depth shall not be greater than half of the thickness
tolerance. The minimum thickness of the steel plate shall be guaranteed.
7.5.3 Steel plates, sheets and strips shall not be repaired by welding.
7.5.4 Agreed by the supplier and the purchaser and indicated in the contract, the surface
quality of steel plates, sheets and strips can meet the requirements of GB/T 14977.
7.6 Non-destructive testing
Agreed by the supplier and the purchaser and indicated in the contract, the internal
quality of steel plates, sheets and strips can be inspected by non-destructive testing
methods. The testing standards and qualification levels shall be specified in the contract.
