The recovery marking of products and components 1 Scope This standard specifies the technical requirements for the types of recovery marking of products and components, the recovery marking and requirements of products, the indication of composition of plastic components, the recycling marking, etc. This standard applies to producers and importers. 2 Normative references The provisions in following documents become the provisions of this standard through reference in this standard. Flame retardants GB/T 16288 Marking of plastics products GB/T 20861 Terminology of waste product recovery SJ/T 11363 Requirements for concentration limits for certain hazardous substances in electronic information products 3 Terms and definitions The terms and definitions as defined in GB/T 20861 and the following terms and definitions apply to this standard. 3.1 Hazardous substance Substances contained in the product that are harmful to humans, animals, plants and the environment, including lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd), hexavalent chromium (Cr6+), polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) and so on. 3.2 Producer A natural or legal person engaged in the production of products within the territory of the People's Republic of China. 3.3 Importer A natural or legal person engaged in the import of products within the territory of the People's Republic of China. 3.4 Material A substance or a mixture of substances, such as metals and alloys, plastics, ceramics, rubber, and the like. 3.5 Homogeneous material Materials with the same composition and which cannot be further separated by mechanical means. 3.6 Component A structural unit with a certain function or purpose in the product. 3.7 Environment-friendly use period The period in which the use of the product, by the product user, which contains hazardous substance that will not leak or be abrupt under the of plastic compositions 5.1 Composition and recovery marking of plastic components Identify the plastic composition used in the product and component for reference by producers, consumers, recyclers, and processors. 5.2 Object of marking Plastic parts which have a mass of not less than 25 g or a maximum surface area of not less than (5 x 10) mm2 should all be marked. 5.3 Requirements of marking The abbreviation code of plastic composition is executed in accordance with GB/T 1844.1, GB/T 1844.2, GB/T 1844.3, GB/T 1844.4. The marking requirements of plastic components are in accordance with GB/T 16288. The recovery plastic components may use the marking pattern which combines the graphics and the plastic composition codes, the example is as shown in Figure 3. Note. > PP + PET < indicates the composition of plastics Figure 3 -- Identification of composition and recovery marking of plastic compositions 5.4 Location of marking 5.4.1 Provide marking at the location of the component which is easy to view after separated and disassembled, for example, the surface of the component, the convex part where the unevenness changes greatly, try to avoid marking in the concave part that is difficult to view. 5.4.2 Provide marking at the visible part which is not covered. 5.5 Special circumstances ......
