Foreword
GB/T 20564 Continuously cold rolled high strength steel sheet and strip for
automobile consists of 7 parts.
- Part 1. Bake hardening steel;

- Part 4. High strength low alloy steel;
- Part 5. Isotropic steel;
- Part 6. Transformation induced plasticity steel;
- Part 7. Martensitic steels.
This Part is the 4th part of GB/T 20564.
Annex A and Annex B of this Part are informative.
This Part was proposed by China Iron and Steel Industry Association.
This Part shall be under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee on
Steels of Standardization Administration of China.

Part 4. High strength low alloy steel
1 Scope
This Part specifies the dimensions, shape, weight, technical requirements,
test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marks and quality certificate of
cold rolled high strength steel sheet and strip (hereinafter referred to as steel
sheet and strip).
This Part is applicable to steel sheet and strip of thickness not greater than
3.0 mm mainly used for automotive structural parts and reinforcements.
2 Normative references
The following standards contain the provisions which, through reference in
this Part, constitute the provisions of this Part. For dated references,
subsequent amendments (excluding corrections) or revisions do not apply to
this Part. However, the parties who enter into agreement based on this Part
are encouraged to investigate whether the latest versions of these documents
are applicable. For undated reference documents, the latest versions apply to
this Part.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1 high strength low alloy steels (LA)
In the low carbon steel, the microalloying elements such as niobium, titanium
and vanadium are added by single or compound, and the carbonitride

5.1 The user shall provide the following information when ordering.
a) product name (steel sheet or strip);
b) reference to this Part;
c) designation;
d) specifications and size, roughness accuracy;
e) surface quality level;
f) surface structure;
g) edge status;
h) packaging method;
i) weight;
j) use;
k) other special requirements.
5.2 If the order contract does not indicate the size and roughness accuracy,
surface quality level, surface structure type, edge status and packaging and
other information, the products of this Standard shall be delivered according
to the trimmed steel sheet and strip of ordinary size and unevenness
accuracy, more advanced finishing surface, pitting surface. The products
shall be packed in the method provided by the supplier.
6 Size, shape, weight and tolerance
The size, shape, weight and tolerance of steel sheet and strip shall comply
with the provisions of GB/T 708.
7 Technical requirements
7.1 Chemical composition
Refer to Annex A for the chemical composition of the steel (smelting analysis).
If the purchaser has chemical composition requirements, it shall be
negotiated when ordering.
