Foreword
Test method and test condition of product physicochemical property in this Standard
correspond to the standard BISFA International Bureau for the Standardization of
Man-Made Fibers - 1995 version of Internationally Agreed Test Method for Polyester
Filament Yarn (English version) issued by BISFA; this Standard is not equivalent to the
standard BISFA - 1995 version of Internationally Agreed Test Method for Polyester
Filament Yarn (English version).
According to the product characteristics of cord fabric for tyre and industry practice, when
adopting the BISFA 1995 Standard, this Standard adds four clauses; technically modifies
the terms which do not fully apply to the cord fabric for tyre; and deletes the terms which
do not completely apply to cord fabric for tyre. The relevant technical differences have
been incorporated into the text, and the relevant terms have been marked on the margin
of the page with single vertical line. For comparison, Annex A and Annex B list the
comparison of terms of this Standard and the terms of the international standard, these
technical differences and the reasons for reference.
The part of product of this Standard is developed with reference to technical indicators for
same kind of products in developed foreign countries, and combined with the domestic
relevant data accumulated over the years, product technical indicators and the fiber
framework materials requirements for tyres in enterprise standards.
In this Standard, Annex A, Annex B and Annex C are informative Annexes.
This Standard is proposed by China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association.
This Standard is under the jurisdiction of the China National Technical Committee For
Standardization of Tyres and Rims.
This Standard shall be explained by the China National Technical Committee For
Standardization of Tyres and Rims.
The tissue s responsible for drafting this Standard are. Beijing Research & Design Institute
of Rubber Industry, Liaoyang Yundi New Materials Co., Ltd. and Weifang Dalong
Chemical Fiber Co., Ltd.
The main drafters of this Standard include. Gao Chenyi, Tang Wei and Zhou Limin.
Dipped polyester cord fabric for tyres
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the terms and definitions, product classification and specifications,
technical requirements, test condition, regulation on batching product and preparation
method of samples, test method of physicochemical property, inspection method of tissue
specifications and exterior quality, business settlement quality and inspection rules, and
the requirements on packaging, marking, certificate of guarantee of quality, transportation
and storage of dipped polyester cord fabric for tyres.
This Standard applies to the quality appraisal and acceptance of dipped polyester cord
fabric for tyres.

The net weight of the dipped cord fabric obtained after deducting the weight of all
packaging from the cord fabric cloth roll weight when leaving the dipping equipment.
4 Product classification and specifications
4.1 The dipped polyester cord fabric can be divided into common type and
stable-dimension type (high modulus, and low shrinkage) based on the physicochemical
properties (mainly refer to the dimensional stability).
4.2 According to the warp count and the number of strands, the common type of dipped
polyester cord fabric can be divided into.
1100dtex/2, 1100dtex/3, 1440dtex/2, 1440dtex/3, 1670dtex/2, 1670dtex/3, 2200dtex/2 and
2500dtex/2, total of 8 specifications.
4.3 According to the warp count and the number of strands, the stable-dimension type of
dipped polyester cord fabric can be divided into.
1100dtex/2, 1100dtex/3, 1440dtex/2, 1670dtcx/2 and 2200dtex/2, total of 5 specifications.
4.4 Each specifications of dipped polyester cord fabric can be divided into 1 to 3 kinds of
tissue structures (see Table 1) based on the different warp count. The common type and
stable-dimension type of dipped polyester cord fabric have 16 and 13 kinds of tissue
specifications respectively.
requirements.
- With charting apparatus or data processing and printing device;
- Display error of tension shall be not more than ± 0.5% of full-range load;
- Display error of elongation shall be not more than ± 1% of recorded value of elongation;
- Id there is different tension ranges, it shall enable breaking strength of sample to be in
20% - 90% of the range;
- Equipped with pneumatic clamp which can give pressure compensation to samples.
The jaw of pneumatic clamp shall be steel plane without pad, jaw pressure shall ensure
that the sample cannot be slipped in the jaw, and it cannot be damaged resulting in
fracture in the jaw.
7.1.3 Sample quality
20 pieces.
7.1.4 Test conditions
Gauge length. (250± 1) mm;
Tensile speed. (300± 5) mm/min.
7.1.5 Operational procedure
7.1.5.1 CALIBRATE gauge length and tensile speed of tensile testing machine, MAKE
them to meet the requirements specified in 7.1.4 respectively.
7.1.5.2 ADJUST the display apparatus of tension and elongation of tensile testing
machine, LET the displayed values of tension and elongation to be zero under
non-working stable status of tensile testing machine.
7.1.5.3 For tensile testing machine equipped with a recorder, ADJUST the position of
recorder pen point, LET the recorder pen point directly align to the baseline of recording
paper under non-working stable status of tensile testing machine.
7.1.5.4 SELECT the appropriate tension range according to sample size, SET the data
content to be printed as required.
7.1.5.5 TAKE a sample from the sample holder in 6.2.3, PUT one end into the stationary
clamp, PUT the other end into the movable clamp, and CLIP the sample firmly, then
APPLY pretension on sample according to the provisions in Table 6.
scope of 20% to 90% of some range;
C.5.2 TAKE down one sample from the sample holder in 6.2.3, PUT one end into a
fixed champ and CLIP the sample tightly, then PUT the other end into a movable sample
and CLIP the it tightly only after applying the specified pre-tension in Table 6 to sample;
C.5.3 START the lower champ, and STRETCH the sample until it is broken. The
recorder shall draw the force - elongation curve during the whole stretching process;
C.5.4 REPEAT the above operations for each sample until all samples are tested;
C.5.5 READ the breaking force (i.e., tensile peak) of each sample and the
corresponding breaking elongation and elongation at specified load from the force -
elongation curve. If the tension tester is equipped with a data display device, READ the
breaking force (i.e., tensile peak) of each sample and the corresponding breaking
elongation (rate) and elongation (rate) at specified load from this device.
C.6 Calculation
According to the data obtained from the C.5.5 and according to the formulas from Formula
(1) to Formula (3) in 7.1.6, CALCULATE the breaking force, breaking elong...
