Foreword
The expected structure of GB/T 18910 “Liquid crystal and solid-state display
devices” is as follows.
Part 1. Generic specification;
Part 2. Liquid crystal display modules sectional specification;
Part 2-1. Passive matrix monochrome LCD modules - Blank detail
specification;
Part 3. Sectional specification for liquid crystal display (LCD) cells;
Part 3-1. Liquid crystal display (LCD) - Blank detail specification;
Part 4. Liquid crystal display modules and cells - Essential ratings and
characteristics;
Part 5. Environmental endurance and mechanical test methods;
This is part 2 of GB/T 18910, which equivalently adopts IEC 61747-2.1998 (QC
720300) “Liquid crystal and solid-state display devices - Part 2. Liquid crystal
display modules sectional specification” (English version).
To facilitate use, this part has made the following editorial changes.
a) USE the decimal point “.” to replace the comma “,” which is used as the
decimal point;
b) DELETE the foreword to the international standard;
c) In clause 2, ADD the referenced international standard “IEC 61747-5”;
d) In clause 4.6, according to the actual contents of GB/T 18910.1 (IEC
61747-1.1998, IDT), CHANGE “3.6” into “5.6”;
e) In note 1 to Table 5, according to the actual contents of GB/T 18910.1 (IEC
61747-1.1998, IDT), CHANGE “2.6” to “4.5”.
This part was proposed by the Ministry of Information Industry of PRC.
This part shall be under the jurisdiction of the China Electronics Standardization
Institute (CESI).

Liquid crystal display modules sectional specification
1 Scope
This sectional specification applies to liquid crystal and solid-state display
modules such as the following.
- Static / segment type liquid crystal display modules;
- Passive matrix monochrome liquid crystal display modules;
- Passive matrix color liquid crystal display modules;
- Active matrix monochrome liquid crystal display modules;
- Active matrix color liquid crystal display modules.
It gives details of the Quality Assessment Procedures, the inspection
requirements, screening sequences, sampling requirements, and test and
measurement procedures required for the assessment of liquid crystal display
modules.
Note 1. Instead of the Qualification Approval Procedure, the Capability Approval
Procedure (see Rules of Procedures QC 001002, subclause 11.7), which is at
present under consideration, may be used for all products manufactured in a
defined process.
Note 2. All the requirements of this specification remain valid, unless modified
by the requirements set out by the new clause. Capability Approval Procedure
(under consideration).
2 Normative reference
The following normative document contains provisions which, through
reference in this text, constitute provisions of this part of GB/T 18910. For the
dated references, the subsequent amendments (excluding corrections) or
revisions do not apply to this standard; however, parties who reach an
agreement based on this standard are encouraged to study if the latest versions
of these documents are applicable. For undated references, the latest edition
of the referenced document applies.
