This Standard is drafted according to the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This Standard replaces GB/T 18837-2002 “Multi-connected air condition (heat pump) unit”.
Compared with GB/T 18837-2002, the changes of technical contents are as follows.
— Revise the applicable scope (see chapter 1);
— Add “heat recycling type unit” and delete “electric heating type unit” (see chapters 3
and 4)
— Add “cooling mode of condenser” (water cooled, air cooled) and delete
“classification by climatic environment” (T1, T2, T3) (see chapter 4);
— Adjust the numbering requirements of model, and delete “the model numbering
method of multi-connected air condition (heat pump) unit” (see 4.2);
— Adjust the normal working conditions and operating parameters of the unit (see 4.3);
— Delete the requirements on shunt unbalance rate of unit (see 5.1);
— Delete “consumed power of indoor unit” and “heating capacity of indoor unit” in the
performance requirements; add the requirements on “water side pressure drop” and
“standby power”; regulate the limits on cooling (heating) capacity and actual noise
value (see 5.4);
— Delete the requirements on “cooling integrated performance factor”, add the
requirements on “seasonal energy efficiency ratio”, “annual performance factor” and
“energy efficiency rate” (see 5.4.18);
— Add the connection method of unit during test (see 6.3);
— Add the stipulations on the combination mode of indoor unit and opening state
during performance test (see 6.4);
— Add “test and calculation of cooling integrated part load value of water cooled
multi-connected air condition (heat pump) unit” (see Annex A);
— Add “the test and calculation of seasonal energy consumption of air cooled
multi-connected air condition (heat pump) unit” (see Annex B)
— Add “Stipulations of Heating Performance Test of Air-cooled Multi-connected Air
Conditioning (Heat Pump) Unit” (see Annex C);
Multi-connected air condition (heat pump) unit
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the terms and definitions, types, models and basic parameters,
requirements, tests, inspection rules, labeling, packaging, transportation and storage of
multi-connected air condition (heat pump) unit (hereinafter referred as the “unit”).
This Standard is applicable to multi-connected air condition (heat pump) unit which uses
A1 freezing medium as stipulated in GB/T 7778. For the unit and dual cooling circulation
system and multiple cooling circulation system which use A2L freezing medium, this
Standard is served as reference.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purpose of this Standard, the terms and definitions given in JB/T 7249 and GB/T
17758 and as follows apply.
multi-split air condition (heat pump) unit
A cooling circulation system that is constituted of one or many outdoor units connected to
many direct evaporated indoor units of different types and capacities or of the same type
and capacity that directly supplies the processed air to one or many areas.
Heat recovery multi-split air-condition (heat pump) unit
A unit with different indoor units operating at heating and cooling modes at the same time.
During the operation, the unit can recycle the heat of condensation of indoor unit
operating in the cooling mode to the indoor unit operating in the heating mode.
Cooling (heating) capacity of indoor machine
Indoor unit that discharges (liberates) the heat from an enclosed space, room or area in a
unit time under the specified cooling (heating) capacity test conditions, expressed in W.
Maximum ordonnance rate
The maximum value of the ratio of the total of nominal cooling capacities of indoor units to
the total of nominal cooling capacities of outdoor units, expressed in %.
Minimum ordonnance rate
The minimum value of the ratio of the total of nominal cooling capacities of indoor units to
the total of nominal cooling capacities of outdoor units, expressed in %.
Consumed power of indoor machine
5.1.1 The unit shall comply with this Standard; and it shall be produced according to the
drawings and technical documents which are approved according to the stipulated
5.1.2 The heat recycling capacity of heat recycling type unit shall be tested according to
Annex E; the performance parameters shall be determined by the manufacturer.
5.1.3 The correction coefficients of cooling capacity, cooling power input, heating capacity
and heating power, under the nominal operating conditions provided by the manufacturer
in the form of diagram, are varied with the variation of the length of connecting pipe; the
test method to determine the performance correction parameters of long pipe are referred
in Annex F.
5.1.4 The calibration of the nominal cooling capacity of indoor unit shall be carried out in
accordance with the test method as stipulated in Annex G.
5.2 Safety requirements
The safety requirements of the unit shall comply with GB 25130 and GB 9237.
5.4.4 Requirements on normal operation
The unit shall work safely and reliably under various nominal conditions prescribed by the
manufacturer, including maximum height difference between indoor and outdoor units,
maximum connecting pipe length between indoor and outdoor units, maximum height
difference between indoor units, maximum ordonnance rate, minimum ordonnance rate,
cooling at the maximum environmental temperature, and heating at the minimum
environmental temperature, etc.
5.4 Performance requirements
5.4.1 Cooling system sealing property
The leakage amount of freezing medium of each part of cooling system shall not be
greater than 14 g/a.
5.4.2 Operation
The parameters such as current, voltage, input power etc. measured during the operation
of unit shall comply with the design requirements.
5.4.3 Cooling capacity
The actual cooling capacity of the unit shall not be lower than 95% of the nominal cooling
5.4.4 Cooling consumed power The cooling consumed power of the unit includes the consumed power of all the
indoor and outdoor units. The actual cooling consumed power of the unit shall not be greater than 110% of
the nominal cooling consumed power.
5.4.5 Heating capacity
The actual heating capacity of the unit s hall not be lower than 95% of the nominal heating
