1 Scope
This document specifies technical requirements, sampling, test methods, quality
assessment, handover acceptance, packaging, labeling, transportation and storage for
raw white degummed hemp.
This Standard applies to raw white degummed hemp.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1 degummed hemp
The fiber aggregate obtained after the raw hemp is moderately degummed.
3.2 residual gum content
The percentage of the dry amount of gum remaining in the degreased hemp fiber to the
dry weight of the degreased hemp fiber.
3.3 gummy fibre content
The percentage of the mass of the remaining rigid strips and husks in the raw white
degummed hemp to the original mass of the degummed hemp.
3.4 defect
Defects in a hemp fiber product that impair its quality properties, such as tangles, spots,
dense, sticky fibre, hemp husks, hemp kernels.
3.5 tangle
Twisted degummed hemp.
3.6 spot
Punctate and block defects of damaged fibers.
3.7 sticky fibre
Coarse and stiff fiber bundles.
4 Technical requirements
4.1 The raw white degummed hemp is divided into first-class, second-class, and third-
class products. The product lower than the third class are substandard products.
4.2 Carry out rating according to sensory characteristics, gummy fibre content, oil
content, residual gum content, breaking strength.
4.3 See Table 1 for technical requirements.
Table 1 -- Technical requirements for raw white degummed hemp
Item First class Second class Third class
b) Scissors.
6.4.2 Test methods
6.4.2.1 Weigh the specimen mass G1 after impurity rough picking.
6.4.2.2 Hand touch and visually inspect. Carefully check for the presence of hard lumps
and unremoved hemp skin one by one.
6.4.2.3 Cut hard strips and hemp skins. Weigh the mass of the specimen after removing
the hard strips and hemp skin, G2.
6.4.3 Calculate the gummy fibre content according to formula (2):
Where,
S - The gummy fibre content, %;
G1 - The specimen mass, g;
G2 - The mass of the specimen after removing the hard strips and hemp skin.
The calculation result is rounded off according to GB/T 8170, to one decimal place.
6.5 Oil content
According to GB/T 18147.1.
6.6 Residual gum content
According to GB/T 18147.2.
6.7 Breaking strength
According to GB/T 18147.5.
7 Quality assessment
The raw white degummed hemp is rated according to Tables 1 and 2. Where,
a) The degree of failure of this product to contain defects shall not be lower than the
technical requirements of the next level. If it is lower than the technical requirements
of the next level, the defect is counted twice;
b) For the batch that fails in the relaxing inspection, the inspection results must be
re-judged according to the number of acceptances and rejections of the
corresponding extra-relaxing inspection. The next batch shall be transferred for
normal inspection.
8 Handover acceptance
8.1 When the purchaser accepts the acceptance, it will receive the whole batch if the
batch is determined as accepted. In principle, if the batch is determined as rejected, it
shall be returned to the supplier, or shall be resolved through negotiation between the
supplier and the purchaser.
8.2 Rejected non-conforming products can be repaired and submitted for inspection
again in the prescribed manner after the purchaser agrees.
8.3 Rejected batches have been fully inspected by the supplier. After rejecting or
repairing non-conforming products, it is allowed to submit for inspection again. The
inspection method is determined by the purchaser.
8.4 If moisture regain and impurity content do not meet the regulations or are mixed
and mixed in batches, it will be resolved through negotiation between the two parties.
8.5 The public quantity of hemp fiber is calculated according to formula (3):
Public quantity = weigh net quantity × (1 + official moisture regain) / (1+ measured
moisture regain) …………………. (3)
The calculation result is rounded off according to GB/T 8170, to one decimal place.
8.6 During acceptance by the purchaser, if the quality and quantity of hemp fibers are
found to be inconsistent with the product quality inspection list or the delivery list, re-
inspection shall be submitted within one month of arrival. After the supplier is notified,
he shall reply within 15 days. If it is overdue, it will be dealt with according to the
opinions of the purchaser.
8.7 When any party in production, supply, sale and use has any objection to the quality
and quantity of the product, re-inspection can be submitted, or a re-inspection
arbitration can be submitted to a professional fiber inspection agency. The results of the
re-inspection shall be subject to one time.
9 Packaging, labeling, transportation and storage
9.1 The weight of each hemp handle is about 0.5kg. Bind 8~10 handles into a simple
bundle. Bind two strands with the same fine hemp.
9.2 The mass of each hemp piece is about 80kg. The volume is about 0.48m3. It is
