GB/T 15115-2009 GB NATIONAL STANDARD OF THE PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA ICS 77.120.10 J 31 Replacing GB/T 15115-1994 Die casting aluminum alloys ISSUED ON. APRIL 1, 2009 IMPLEMENTED ON. DECEMBER 1, 2009 Issued by. General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China; Standardization Administration of the People's Republic of China. Table of Contents Foreword ... 3 1 Scope ... 5 2 Normative references ... 5 3 Designations and codes of alloys ... 6 4 Technical requirements ... 6 5 Inspection methods and rules ... 7 6 Packaging, transportation and storage ... 7 Annex A (Informative) Cross references of domestic and foreign die casting aluminum alloy codes ... 8 Foreword This Standard modifies and adopts ASTM B 179-06, Standard specification for aluminum alloys in ingot and molten forms for castings from all casting processes. Compared with ASTM B 179-06, the differences of this Standard with respect to main technical contents are as follows. -- significant editorial modifications are made in structure; -- the normative references in Clause 2 of ASTM B 179-06 are not used; -- the ordering information of and electrical conductivity requirements for die casting aluminum alloys in Clauses 3 and 9 of ASTM B 179-06 are not used; -- Annex A to ASTM B 179-06 are not used; -- new Annexes A, B and C are added. This Standard replaces GB/T 15115-1994, Die casting aluminum alloys. Compared with GB/T 15115-1994, the main technical content changes of this Standard are as follows. -- in chemical composition, it modifies the contents of Fe and Mg and the content of Zn in YLAlSi9Cu4; -- it adds the material designation YZAlSi10Mg (YL101) and deletes the material designation YZAlSi12Cu2 (YL108); -- it cancels the mechanical property values in technical requirements, which are not deemed as the criteria for acceptance of die casting aluminum alloys; -- Annexes A, B and C are added. Annexes A, B and C are informative. This Standard was proposed by the China Machinery Industry Federation. This Standard shall be under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee 54 on Foundry of Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC 54). The drafting organizations of this Standard. Shenyang Research Institute of Foundry Co., Ltd., Guangdong Hongtu Technology (Holdings) Co., Ltd., Dongguan Shijie Huafeng Hardware Factory, FU Casting Co., Ltd., Ningbo Wanan Co., Ltd. The main drafters of this Standard. Chang Yiqian, Qu Xueliang, Liang Huancao, Dong Xianming, He Jingyuan. Die casting aluminum alloys 1 Scope This Standard specifies the designations and codes, technical requirements, inspection methods and inspection rules, packaging, transportation and storage, etc. for die casting aluminum alloys. This Standard applies to die casting aluminum alloys. 2 Normative references The provisions in following documents become the provisions of this Standard through reference in this Standard. For dated references, the subsequent amendments (excluding corrigendum) or revisions do not apply to this Standard, however, parties who reach an agreement based on this Standard are encouraged to study if the latest versions of these documents are applicable. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document applies. GB/T 20975.3, Methods for chemical analysis of aluminium and aluminium alloys – Part 3. Determination of magnesium 3 Designations and codes of alloys 3.1 Representation of alloy designations Designation of die casting aluminum alloys consists of chemical symbols of aluminum and major alloy elements. Major alloy elements are followed by digits showing their nominal mass fraction (nominal mass fraction is the rounded off integer values of the mean mass fraction of the elements). “YZ” (“Y” and “Z” are the first letters of two Chinese characters’ pinyin “Ya” and “Zhu”) aluminum designations represent a die casting alloy. 3.2 Representation of alloy codes In alloy codes, “YL” (“Y” and “L” are the first letters of two Chinese characters’ pinyin “Ya” and “Lv”) represent a die casting aluminum alloy. The first digit behind YL, i.e. 1, 2, 3 and 4, represents respectively Al-Si, Al-Cu, Al-Mg and Al-Sn serial alloys, which is the code of the alloys. The second and third digits after YL are sequence numbers. 4 Technical requirements Chemical compositions of die casting aluminum alloys shall be as specified in Table 1. ......
