Hongyan, Wang Xiaohu, Tu Shulin, Yu Chengfeng, Xu Qing, Zhou Bo, Yu Gangqiang
and Yu Dan.
The previous edition replaced by this Standard is as follows.
- GB/T 14978-1994.
Continuously Hot-dip Aluminum-zinc Alloy Coated
Steel Sheet and Strip
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification and code, size,
appearance, weight, technical requirements, inspection and test as well as package,
mark and quality certificate of continuously hot-dip aluminum-zinc alloy coated steel
sheet and strip (hereinafter referred to as "steel sheet and strip").
This Standard is applicable to the steel sheet and strip with thickness of
0.30mm~3.0mm mainly used for building, home appliances, electronics and
automobile industry.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purpose of this Standard, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
Hot-dip aluminum-zinc alloy coating
Coating produced in continuously hot-dip aluminum-zinc production line and made of
aluminum-zinc alloy; mass fraction of aluminum in coating is about 55%; mass
fraction of silicon is about 1.6%; other ingredient is zinc.
3.2
Stretcher strain marks
Defects such as "slip line" and "orange peel", which damages surface appearance, on
the surfaces of steel sheets or strips due to aging during cold forming.
4 Classification and Code
4.1 Designation naming method
The code of steel sheets and strips consist of product use code, steel grade character
(or serial number), steel grade characteristic (if any), hot-dip code (D) and coating
type code; hot-dip code (D) and coating type code are connected with "+". Detailed
provisions are as follows.
4.1.1 Use code
a) DX. the first letter D represents flat steels for cold forming; if the second letter is
X, it represents that there is no requirement for the rolled condition of base-plate;
if the second letter is C, it represents that cold-rolled base-plate is required; if
the second letter is D, it represents that hot-rolled base-plate is required;
b) S. represents structural steels.
4.1.2 Steel grade character (or serial No.)
a) 51~54. two digits, represents steel grade serial No.
b) 250~550. three digits, represents steel grade character; here it is the sp...
