---GB/T 14092.7-2009 Environmental Condition for Machinery Products - Dry Heat.
This document serves as a replacement of GB/T 14092.1-2009 Environmental Condition for
Machinery Products - Warm-damp. In comparison with GB/T 14092.1-2009, apart from
structural adjustments and editorial modifications, the main technical changes are as follows:
a) The content of the chapter “General Requirements” is modified, and the title of the
chapter is modified into “Environmental Condition” (see Chapter 4; Chapter 3 of
Version 2009);
b) The content of the section “environmental condition of warm damp” is modified, and
the title is modified into “severity levels of various environmental conditions” (see
Chapter 5; 3.7 of Version 2009);
c) The contents of “environmental condition of climate”, “environmental condition of
special climate”, “environmental condition of chemical active substance”,
“environmental condition of mechanical active substance” and “mechanical
environmental condition” are modified, and the new classification is used to replace
the old classification (see Table 1 ~ Table 5; Table 1 ~ Table 5 of Version 2009);
d) The content of “biological environmental condition” is added (see 5.6).
Please be noted that certain content of this document may involve patents. The institution
issuing this document does not undertake the responsibility of identifying these patents.
Environmental Condition for Machinery Products - Part 1:
Warm Damp
1 Scope
This document specifies the environmental parameters and severity levels of machinery
products in the environmental condition of warm damp.
This document applies to machinery products used in the environmental condition of warm
damp.
The environmental condition stipulated in this document include the environmental parameters
and severity levels that the products are subject to and affected by. Applicable items and levels
are selected for various types of products in accordance with the degree of environmental
impact to which they are subject.
2 Normative References
The contents of the following documents constitute indispensable clauses of this document
through the normative references in the text. In terms of references with a specified date, only
versions with a specified date are applicable to this document. In terms of references without a
specified date, the latest version (including all the modifications) is applicable to this document.

Products - Guidance
3 Terms and Definitions
This document does not have terms or definitions that need to be defined.
4 Environmental Condition
The environmental condition of warm damp is respectively and hierarchically described by the
environmental condition of climate (K), the environmental condition of special climate (Z), the
condition of chemical active substance (C), the condition of mechanical active substance (S),
the condition of mechanical environment (M) and the condition of biological environment (B).
The classification of environmental conditions allows possible combinations of multiple
environmental conditions, which can truly reflect the impact of environmental conditions on
product storage, transportation and usage. For some environmental parameters, it is quite
difficult to quantify their severity levels.
In accordance with the requirements of GB/T 4798.10, the level of environmental condition is
marked as follows:
---The first digit, which identifies the application conditions (1 indicates storage, 2
indicates transportation, 3 indicates fixed use in a place with weather protection, and 4
indicates fixed use in a non-weather-protected place);
---Letter, the environmental condition of climate (K), the environmental condition of
special climate (Z), the condition of chemical active substance (C), the condition of
mechanical active substance (S), the mechanical environmental condition (M) and the
biological environmental condition (B);
---Another digit, which identifies the severity level. Generally, the larger the value, the
more severe the condition.
For example: level 2K30, in which, 2 indicates transportation; K indicates the
environmental condition of climate; 30 indicates the severity level.
5 Severity Levels of Various Environmental Conditions
5.1 Environmental Condition of Climate (K)
When choosing an appropriate level, it is necessary to pay attention to whether the
environmental condition of climate in the place with weather protection is affected by the
environment without weather protection, especially the impact of temperature and solar
radiation.
The severity levels of the environmental condition of climate are shown in Table 1.
1K30: applicable to storage with weather protection in the environmental condition of warm
damp, without the control of temperature and relative humidity.
1K31: applicable to outdoor sheltered storage in the environmental condition of warm damp.
1K32: applicable to outdoor storage without shelter in the environmental condition of warm
damp.
2K30: applicable to transportation with weather protection in the environmental condition of
warm damp, in an unventilated box, without the control of temperature and relative humidity.
2K31: applicable to transportation without weather protection in the environmental condition
of warm damp.
3K30: applicable to fixed use with weather protection in the environmental condition of warm
damp, without the control of temperature and relative humidity.
4K30: applicable to outdoor sheltered fixed use without weather protection in the
2C3: applicable to transportation, loading and unloading in areas close to industrial chemical
pollution sources.
3C1: applicable to indoor fixed use in rural and urban areas with low industrial activities and
moderate traffic. Heating in dense urban areas during winter may lead to increased pollution.
3C2: applicable to indoor fixed use with general pollution levels, with industrial activities
distributed throughout the area, or cities with heavy traffic.
3C3: applicable to indoor fixed use close to industrial sources of chemical emissions.
3C4: applicable to indoor fixed use in industrial production plants, where high concentrations
of chemical pollutants may occur.
4C1: applicable to outdoor fixed use in rural and urban areas with a small amount of industrial
pollution and not heavy traffic.
4C2: applicable to outdoor fixed use in cities with industrial pollution and heavy traffic.
4C3: applicable to outdoor fixed use close to chemical pollution sources.
4C4: applicable to outdoor fixed use in industrial processing plants, with extremely high
concentrations of chemical pollutant emission.
1S4: applicable to open-air storage where windy sand and dusty air are generated by natural
conditions or industrial activities.
2S1: applicable to transportation, loading and unloading where dust prevention measures have
been taken to reduce the content of sand and dust to a minimum.
2S2: applicable to transportation, loading and unloading where limited (anti-sand and dust)
measures have been taken to reduce the presence of sand and dust to a minimum, such as:
enclosed transportation, loading and unloading.
2S3: applicable to non-enclosed transportation, loading and unloading near the source of sand
and dust, where no special protective measures are taken to reduce the presence of sand and
dust to a minimum.
2S4: applicable to transportation, loading and unloading in sandy and dusty areas.
3S1: applicable to closed indoor fixed use where dust prevention measures have been taken to
reduce the dust content to a minimum.
3S2: applicable to closed indoor fixed use without special protective measures to reduce the
content of dust and sand to a minimum, but the places are not located near the source of dust or
sand.
3S3: applicable to closed indoor fixed use close to the source of dust and sand, including places
in urban areas where measures are taken to reduce the content of sand or dust to a minimum.
4S1: applicable to outdoor fixed use where dust prevention measures have been taken to reduce
the content of dust to a minimum.
4S2: applicable to outdoor fixed use where no special protective measures are taken to reduce
the content of sand and dust to a minimum, but the places are not located near the source of
dust or sand.
4S3: applicable to places close to the source of sand and dust, including outdoor fixed use in
urban areas where there are no special protective measures to reduce the content of dust and
sand to a minimum. It is also applicable to outdoor fixed use not affected by natural sandstorms
or important industrial activities.
4S4: applicable to outdoor fixed use where windy sand and dusty air are generated by natural
conditions or industrial activities.
