Foreword
This Standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T
1.1-2009.
This Standard replaces GB/T 1196-2008 Unalloyed aluminium ingots for
remelting. Compared with GB/T 1196-2008, the main technical changes in
this Standard are as follows.
- added relative requirements for original aluminium liquid;
- deleted the designation of A199.90 and added the designation of
A199.80;
- made the Zn element in the impurity elements as a regular analytical
element;
- added ingot specifications of 25kg ± 2kg.
This Standard uses redrafting method to modify and adopt ISO 115.2003
Unalloyed aluminium ingots for remelting - Classification and composition. It
is equivalent to ISO 115.2003 in consistency.
This Standard was proposed by China Nonferrous Metals Industry
Association.
This Standard shall be under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee
on Nonferrous Metals of Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC

Unalloyed aluminium ingots for remelting
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules and
marks, packaging, transport, storage, quality certificate and order (or contract)
of unalloyed aluminium ingots for remelting.
This Standard is applicable to unalloyed aluminium ingots for remelting
generated by alumina-cryolite-salt electrolysis method (hereinafter referred to
as unalloyed aluminium ingots).
The original aluminium liquid can refer to the provisions of this Standard and
YS/T 1004.
2 Normative references

this document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For
undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including
any amendments) applies.

3 Requirements
3.1 Product classification
According to chemical composition, the product can be divided into 8
designations. Al99.85, Al99.80, Al99.70, Al99.60, Al99.50, Al99.00, Al99.7E,
Al99.6E.
the purchaser shall put forward to the supplier within two months from the
date of receipt of the product; and it shall be solved by the supplier and the
purchaser through negotiation. When arbitration is required, the sampling for
arbitration shall be carried out together at the purchaser’s. The inspection and
acceptance of the original aluminium liquid shall be solved by the supplier
and the purchaser through negotiation.
5.2 Batching
5.2.1 The unalloyed aluminium ingots shall be submitted for inspection in
batches. Each batch shall consist of products of same batch number,
irrespective of batch weight.
5.2.2 The original aluminium liquid shall be submitted in batches for
acceptance, a single aluminium liquid package as a batch.
5.3 Inspection items
Each batch of products shall be subject to the inspection of chemical
composition. It shall carry out the inspection of appearance quality for
unalloyed aluminium ingots. The weight of single piece of unalloyed
aluminium ingot shall be guaranteed by the supplier’s process.
5.4 Chemical composition arbitration sampling and sample
preparation of unalloyed aluminium ingots
5.4.1 Respectively take one piece of unalloyed aluminium ingot from the
upper, middle and lower parts of any buddle of this batch of unalloyed
aluminium ingots. When the upper, middle and lower parts cannot be
distinguished, it shall extract at least 3 samples at random.
5.4.2 Use ethanol as lubricant. Using a drill bit with diameter of 15 mm ~ 20
mm to drill for sampling.
5.4.3 In the large surface of the aluminium ingot, drill 3 holes along its
diagonal, one at the centre, the other two about 100 mm from angles. The
depth of each hole shall not be less than 2/3 of the original depth. Before
drilling for sample, the surface oxide must be removed first. It thickness is not
less than 0.5 mm.
5.4.4 The drilled aluminium chips shall be evenly mixed. After treatment with
magnet, it shall use sample quartering. The weight is not less than 100 g.
5.5 Arbitration sampling and sample preparation of chemical
composition of original aluminium liquid
The arbitration sampling and sample preparation of chemical composition of
original aluminium liquid shall refer to the provisions of YS/T 1004.
