GB 7260 “Uninterruptible power systems (UPS)” consists of the following parts. - Part 1-1. General and safety requirements for UPS used in operator access areas; - Part 1-2. General and safety requirements for UPS used in restricted access locations; - Part 2. Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements; - Part 3. Method of specifying the performance and test requirements. This Part of is Part 1-1 of GB 7260. This Part modifies IEC 62040-1-1.2002 “Uninterruptible power systems (UPS) - Part 1-1. General and safety requirements for UPS used in operator access areas”. Compare this Part with IEC 62040-1-1.2002, there are the following technical differences. 4.5.15 of this Part is revised to “Unless otherwise required by the user, the documents, human-machine interfaces and markings provided to the end user shall use the standard Chinese.” In this Part, annexes A, B, C, D, E, F, G, K, L, M and N are normative, annexes H, J and X are informative. This Part was proposed by China Electrical Equipment Industry Association. This Part shall be under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee on Power Electronics of Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC 60). Responsible drafting organizations of this Part. Uninterruptible power systems (UPS) – Part 1-1. General and safety requirements for UPS used in operator access areas 1 Scope and specific applications 1.1 Scope This Part of GB 7260 applies to electronic uninterruptible power systems with an electrical energy storage device in the d.c. link. This Part refers to the relevant contents of GB 4943-2001 and IEC 60950-1.2001. The primary function of the uninterruptible power systems (UPS) covered by this Part is to ensure continuity of an alternating power source. The UPS may also serve to improve the quality of the power source by keeping it within specified characteristics. Notes on regional differences in relevant clauses of GB 4943-2001 and IEC 60950-1. 2001 also apply. This Part is applicable to UPS which are movable, stationary, fixed or for building-in, for use on low-voltage distribution systems and intended to be installed in any operator accessible area. This Part specifies requirements to ensure safety for the operator and layman who may come into contact with the equipment and, where specifically stated, for the service person. This Part is intended to ensure the safety of installed UPS, both as a single UPS unit or as a system of interconnected UPS units, subject to installing, operating and maintaining the UPS in the manner prescribed by the manufacturer. This Part does not cover d.c. supplied electronic ballasts (IEC 60924 and IEC 60925), UPS intended to be installed in separated electrical locations and UPS based on rotating machines. The relevant general and safety requirements for UPS installed in restricted access locations are given in GB 7260.4; electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements and definitions are given in GB 7260.2. 1.2 Specific applications Even if this Part does not cover all types of UPS, it may be taken as a guide for such equipment. Requirements additional to those specified in this Part may be necessary for specific applications, for example. ......
