Foreword
Chapter 4 and 7.1 of this Part are mandatory; the rest are recommended.
GB 7036 “Inner Tube of Pneumatic Tyres” is divided into two parts.
— Part 1. Inner tube of motor vehicle tyres;
— Part 2. Inner tube of motorcycle tyres.
This is part 1 of GB 7036. This Part replaces GB 7036.1-1997 “Inner Tube of Pneumatic
Tyres - Part 1. Inner Tube of Motor Vehicle Tyres”.
This Part is a revised version of GB 7036.1-1997, in combination with domestic and
overseas advanced technology and practical needs of similar products, and with
referencing to Japanese Industrial Product Standard JISD4231 -1995 “Inner Tube of
Motor Vehicle Tyres”.
Main differences between this Part and GB 7036.1-1997 are as follows.
— Revising the scope (chapter 1 of version-1997 and this version);
— Deleting normative references (chapter 2 of version-1997 and this version)
— Revising indicator tensile strength change rate of physical properties, after aging of
natural rubber inner tube (table 1 of version-1997 and this version);
— Increasing airtight performance requirements; increasing airtight performance test
method (4.5 and 6.2 of this version);
— Revising test method (chapter 6 of version-1997 and this version);
— Adjusting marking and packaging requirements (chapter 7 of version-1997 and this
version);
— Increasing transportation and storage requirements (chapter 8 and chapter 9 of this
version);
— Deleting annex A to version-1997 (indication annex) “inner tube specifications, main
dimensions and basic parameters”.
This Part was proposed by Chine Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association.
This Part shall be under the jurisdiction of National Standardization Technical Committee
of Tire Wheel Rim.
Drafting organizations of this Part. Triangle Tyre Co., Ltd., and Beijing Research and
Design Institute of Rubber Industry .
Main drafters of this Part. Li Bo, Song Jinglian, Wang Bo, Wang Ke Xian, and Xu Lihong.
Historical versions replaced by this Part are as follows.
— GB 7036-1986, GB 7036-1989, and GB 7036.1-1997.
Inner Tube of Pneumatic Tyres -
Part 1. Inner Tube of Motor Vehicle Tyres
1 Scope
This Part of GB 7036 specifies the requirements, inspection rules, test methods,
packaging, storage and transportation of inner tube of car pneumatic tyres and truck
pneumatic tyres.
This Part applies to inner tube of car pneumatic tyres and truck pneumatic tyres.
2 Normative references
The articles contained in the following documents have become this Part of GB 7036
when they are quoted herein. For the dated documents so quoted, all the modifications
(excluding corrections) or revisions made thereafter shall not be applicable to this Part.
For the undated documents so quoted, the latest editions shall be applicable to this Part.
GB/T 519 Test method for measuring physical properties of pneumatic tyres
GB 1796 Tyre valve
3 Types of materials
It is divided into class A and class B according to commonly used materials for inner tube
manufacturing. Natural rubber or rubber simultaneously used for natural rubber belong to
class A; butyl rubber or rubber simultaneously used for butyl rubber belong to class B.
4 Requirements
4.1 Thickness
4.1.1 Minimum thickness
Minimum thickness of inner tube is not less than 70% of single-layer thickness.
4.1.2 Thickness uniformity
In addition to the joint, sampling is based on the method specified in GB/T 519; the
thickness of any point of the same position shall not exceed ±17.5% of average value of
color line shall be green.
For inner tube of EPDM rubber simultaneously used with butyl rubber, the color line shall
be red.
7.2 Packaging
Packaging shall meet the needs of outer tube products.
8 Transportation
8.1 Mechanical damage shall be avoided during transportation process.
8.2 During transportation process, there is a need to prevent exposure to direct sunlight,
rain and snow; it shall not get contact with oil, lubricating grease, acids, alkalis and other
substances that may damage the quality of inner tube.
8.3 During handling and in transit, it is necessary to avoid damage to packing and packed
products, as a result of too high or heavy stacking.
9 Storage
9.1 Inner tubes that are sold or delivered together with outer tube as a whole shall be
stored together with outer tubes.
9.2 Temperature during storage period shall be below normal temperature and the storage
shall be over 1m away from heat source and in a naturally ventilated environment. There
shall be no exposure to direct sunlight; high-UV light source shall not be used.
9.3 Storage warehouse shall not contain any devices that may generate ozone or contain
any combustible gases or organic vapors that may generate ozone via photochemical
effect.
9.4 During storage period, the products shall not get contact with oil, lubricating wax, acid,
alkali and other substances that damage the quality of inner tube.
9.5 Biological hazards to products shall be avoided during storage period.
