Minimum allowable values of energy efficiency and
energy efficiency grades for arc welding machines
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the energy efficiency grade, energy efficiency limit value, energy
conservation evaluation value and test method of arc welding machines.
This Standard applies to arc welding machines that are powered by the voltage specified
in Table 1 of GB/T 156, and that are designed for industrial and professional use.
This Standard does not apply to AC TIG arc welding machines, AC and DC TIG arc
welding machines, arc welding machines that are driven by mechanical equipment, and
manual metal arc welding power source with restricted loads that are used by
non-professionals.

5 Test method
Efficiency, power factor and no-load current of electric arc welding machine shall be
determined according to the requirements prescribed in GB/T 8118.
